It's Deadline though, which is a trade. I'd take it to mean there is development for Gal as Wonder Woman. But also take it that they don't have plans.
Development means at least Gunn is entertaining the idea of not recasting her. I'll take it.

the thing is , everybody loves Gal, except for some weirdos who love Palestine. ditching her just creates bad blood. why rock the boat? people love Cavill too, but he told them to fuck off and moved on. Batfleck has already left too. so there is just Mamoa and Gal. and the fucking Mad Goose Wizard if anyone will ever want him in a film again after this bomb. he bombed the last Fantastic Beasts film too. its pretty ironic that the guy they did fire, Johnny Depp was innocent and it also helped kill that franchise. WB is such a shit company.

The biggest difference between Cavill and any other pre-Gunn DC actor is Gunn himself is doing the new Superman. He wants it to be a complete break for supes, so he told Cavill to go take any other opportunities presented. It would be a way bigger dick move to string him along and then not use him, especially since most of the super hero movie contracts say you have to be available for DC/Marvel whenever they call.
I assume if a writer/producer/director came to Gunn with a cool story to explore how Wonder Woman is dealing with whatever causes the new DCU and they wanted Gal, Gunn isn't an idiot and would at least consider it.

Yeah, I can definitely see it. Hoult would have to bulk up but he's a good actor. Brosnahan could easily give Margot Kidder feels if they want a Lois like that.
