So if 4x8 is superior speed to 2x16 as the video suggests their testing showed, what would be the point in 2x16? Expandability makes sense, but in a world where 32g is already overkill in most scenarios? By the time 32g is the norm and 64g becomes overkill, I doubt you'd even be able to find that specific ram for sale to expand to 64g anyways. It's has to to do with dual rank vs single rank, so for speed 4x8 = 2x16 > 2x8. It's not quite this simple as it has to do with the specifics of RAM sticks (how many memory chips per stick they have which is typically a function of when they were built), but it's true enough. Most current 16GB sticks have memory on both sides of the DIMM, but in the future as densities increase they will be single sided. Most 8GB sitcks are single sided, hence the 4x8= 2x16.
It's a function of the CL timings and the speed. CL14 3200 is roughly the same performance as CL16 3600, but CL 14 3600 and CL 16 3800 is better. Capacity can also play a part, as in sufficient capacity > all speeds/timings but 16 or 32 GB is enough for most gaming/office uses.

The reality is this is the best argument to have a 4 stick kit lol. Because 4 looks better than 2 with that RGB solidarity.no
this is the wrong question to ask
all you have to do is buy ram that is cl16 or less and get 4x8
why? b/c you want bling bling with that rgb and 2x16 rgb looks stupid, if youre gonna fag out, fag out proper with 4x8
G.SKILL F4-3600C16Q-32GTZR 32 GB (8 GB x 4) Trident Z RGB Series DDR4 3600 MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit - Black with Full Length RGB LED Light bar
Yup, that's exactly why I went with 4. I found a couple tests where 2x16 and 4x8 swapped spots on performance, but it was literally almost identical. So, went for maximum RGB gayness, despite the slightly higher cost. The reality is this is the best argument to have a 4 stick kit lol. Because 4 looks better than 2 with that RGB solidarity.

I got you, Takeshi.
did you at least get cl16?
just buy a new $10 russian key and keep your old hard drive around in case you left an important document or as an emergency boot driveIs it worth transferring a Win 10 license? It seems kind of involved and it might be simpler to just buy a $10 key from Russians.

New Intel chip getting roasted pretty badly. Last gens chip is better pretty much. We have an Intel Bulldozer situation here?
