i bought 2 licneses from this shifty site a few months ago, cleared as genuine

might want to buy up in case they start going after websites, i'm only listing this site cuz i've had 2 successes, so your mileage may vary, pretty sure i got it from an ebay listing

usually ebay will list will be like,

"you can maybe buy from here? but goto this website instead"

lulz he has like 200employees, he couldn't send that 1 asian guy who is 1 pink slip away from being deported back to ccp to dumpster dive?

*edit
come to think of it, why aren't the sjw's after him? he's only got 1black, i mean maybe thats why theyre successful
He has 80 employees and 1 of them is black.

However, his company is based in British Columbia, so he has actually beating the odds:

Not had a new PC since early 2016, using a 1080 (not ti). Still runs things at 1080p, but 20fps at 4k, so put in an order for a new pc (not building it myself, not done that in 15 years).

Case: Phanteks Eclipse P500 Air

GFX: Gainward GeForce RTX 4090 Phantom

CPU: Intel Core i9-12900 CPU (there is also an extra cooler for it)

RAM: Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 RGB 4800MHz 32GB

HD: Kingston FURY Renegade PCIe M.2 NVME SSD 2TB

MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX B660-F GAMING WIFI

PSU: Corsair RMe 1000e 1000W PSU

Any of the things above "oh no, not that!"? Not too late for me to change it if so. Should have asked before I did it I guess...

the gainward comes w/ the 12pin to 3 8pin adapter, i believe the rme1000 only comes w/ 2 gpu8pins might want to double check

even went to verify

That seems like an oh no thing.

Asked them to change it to

Corsair RM1000x 1000W PSU which has 3 8 pins

yea the rmx has 3, is this from a system builder? they should have caught this

i mean i believe the 4090 "could" run w/ only 2 8pin installed, it would just be slower? the third 8pin just gives power to boost, idk i haven't checked it, but still, you wouldn't have had the option

Ya, It was talked about in a Gamers Nexus video that was linked in the Nvidia thread not too long ago. (Did you link it? lol) I cant quite remember the name of it, but I believe he called it a smart pin? That detected how many cables were plugged in and their wattage. So if you only had two cables plugged in, it would limit the peak demand that the card could pull. Was pretty slick, especially since Corsair got called out for being wrong about it.

EVGA psu has a special cord for 12 pin you can get for $30 so I use a 1000wt evga for that reason.

Yes, and I think they know that as they responded within 10 minutes and said the upgrade change was added without any extra cost.

Thank you for the feedback!

idk, there was something about gamers nexus w/ nvdia product lead demonstrating the 3 plugs, it was playing in the background for me

The adapter has additional circuitry to detect how many cables are connected and how much power is available and passes that info along to the GPU. I'm pretty sure that's new this gen and don't believe the cable Xexx Xexx linked has that. I'm not sure any cards other than the FE ones support it though.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust the cable that Xexx linked since 4090 needs the sense pins in order to even power on. Jay had some updated 12VHPWR cables from Corsair and he removed the sense pins and the card refused to power on but the system still booted to Windows behind the scenes just fine.

You weren't paying attention when they explained the three plugs?

Hey this guy doesn't know about the three plugs!

Looks like the 13900K is a heat pumping power hungry CPU.

I am encouraged by Zen 4 and Intel 13th gen. They are both very configurable and have very good (13th gen) to great (Zen 4) efficiency if you drop the power targets. Buildzoid had a 7950x scoring 29,259 on R23 multi at just 75w - my 5950x needs over 200w to hit that score. And it seems to be the theme across both platforms - last gen's high-end performance can be had on current gen with a 100w power limit.

Unchecked, though.. .damn...250-300w on the CPU (7950x/13900k) and up to 600W on 4090.
