Good. Blizzard did the sensible thing for once - rather than nerfing chests back down to pre-2.0 levels(aka worthless), they just removed the abundance of chests in the frequently used spots.

Sounds like a good change, they're just not nerfing everything to shit until rifts become a decent alternative but also buffing rifts. Makes it so running rifts is more efficient than chaining bounties on whatever too, so that's good. I assume 25% is 25% more of whatever chance to find a leg you have on your current difficulty, and not 25% MF, that'd be way too fucking shit and since they specify legendary it's probably not MF(which works on rares too).

I just wish they wouldn't hold all their bug fixes and changes until their first major patch and patch that shit more often. Stuff like Shield Bash desyncing on Jailor should have been fixed right away, even if it meant having some downtime for a real patch, and the list of shit they said is "fixed next patch" is piling up with quite a lot of important ones. Hopefully next week.

Only concern about the hotfix is, they haven't nerfed chests droprate(that's good), only certain areas. I'm not sure how long it'll take people to find a new area that has a high chest concentration and just farm that. Hell the crypts run I was doing I don't think was affected, since it's quest reward chests and the areas already had shit for chests anyway(generally one chest per crypt and a bunch of shitty jars that barely even drop gold). Guess those runs were a lot less efficient for lower movement classes though.

I wish we could spend blood shards to level up items somehow.

If they will be nerfing shit they should be making the game enjoyable enough so that people dont want to mindlessly open chest instead of playing with friends. I can chest farm more gold/legs than i can get in a group for 3x the time spent.

Getting loot is fun, the game is nothing but a huge carrot on a stick - what other reason is there to do the same thing over and over again?

Yeah i got one too 2750 dps with socket. The thing is crazy, the fire chain tick for 4 5 millions crit, and tick super fast. I dont know if the dmg of the chain is increased by fire dmg? Ive changed my build and went with +holy from +lightning, using fire of heaven rune as spender, critting for 20 million, same goes for condemn, if sheild bash would work id prolly switch the finisher to that, and use heaven's fury/ascendacy.

Anyway, with the maximus, i rly dont feel much of the wrath generation issue at all anymore, probably cause im mesmerized bout the fire chain dmg lol.

I have a newbie question. I am trying out the wizard. Apparently spells have particular elemental forms. Because of this, it is advisable to look for gear that grants bonuses around this elemental state.

Is there a definitive way of telling what bonus is needed to effect what spells?

Example: I use Arcane Missile : At it's base it sounds like Bonus to arcane damage would effect its power. However, I use the Glacial Spike variant of the spell. Does this mean that I need bonus to cold?

It sounds stupid I know, but I just want to make sure that + Cold is what I should be looking for, as I also is Arcane Orbs: Frozen Orbs.

Hover your mouse over the skill's rune on the skill window in game and under the skill's name will be it's element.

Ok, I am not seeing it. I know it seems obvious and I am surely just missing this. I hover over the run and I see this: Arcane Orb
Frozen Orb

Create an orb of frozen death that shreds an area with ice bolts.

I do not see the elemental kind of damage. I know I am missing this somehow. Is the word frozen what I am supposed to key in on?

Is it the back ground color of the spell name that denotes its elemental damage?

Hover over the skill on your hotbar. It will have a blue snow graphic in the field on top, and a note that says "Cold". Similarly it will be red with "Fire" for fire, etc.

ALL damage dealt with that skill will be of that element and be affected by +elemental damage, regardless of your weapon or the skill's non-runed base element.

The only exception are procs on weapons/items (e.g. "Attacks have a chance to release a poison cloud dealing 200% weapon damage as Poison"), which will retain the element mentioned in the text.

And yes, +elemental damage is the strongest single DPS attribute in the game, as it works as a straight damage multiplier. If you use only fire skills, a bracer with +15% fire damage will be an upgrade even if it says "-10% damage" when you hover over it.
