I was bummed out at first but vit shoulders aren't a bad way to go. You need a big str,vit, ar rolls for a good piece. So both types give you 1 of 3. Plus you can buy no vit vile wards for cheap if you need a place holder.

I made 6 vit shoulders and they all sucked. What's the max none-vit stat they can get? I didn't get anything higher than 120.

Vit shoulders only work for barbs. Str can roll 300 on regular rares, while every other primary stat is capped at 200.

So vit shoulders could roll 300 str, 330 vit, while str shoulders can only 330 str, 200 vit.

I wasn't sure if the archon stuff had different ranges than normal rares. vit shoulders were the first thing I got to drop, so I just made a bunch for shits and giggles. This a goodlinkabout the max stats for particular slots.

For item farming, you still just want to run on the highest MP where you can fly through everything with no problem. They didn't tweak the item drop rate for MP levels, just the xp.

But you still get a boost to Mf and a chance for extra item.

Reading all the various theories and opinions about how MP and MF affects loot quality (especially in in-game chat channels) reminds me of all the nonsense and misinformation about how hateful strikes worked on WotLK Patchwerk. Diablo needs to add green slime so people think they have to stand in it to reduce their hitpoints to get better loot.

It won't make up for the fewer drops you get by killing less enemies per hour. The time it takes me to do an mp6 run is way to long compared to an mp5 run.

I'm doing key/plan farming on ghom right now on mp5. For loot farming I would probably do 2-3.

I've killed Ghom at least 10 times at MP5, a few at MP6, and a couple at MP7, and I can't get anything other than Vitality items... just checked the auction house and the prices for all the recipes have dropped to nothing. I think I bought every int one for 500k total.

I made 10 amulets, 10 gloves and 15 shoulders or so and only got a shoulder item that was worth keeping.

Holy crap, just had the best (luckiest) night for Diablo ever, as far as number of legendary drops. On a single Act III run (MP7) from Ghom to Azmo I got 5 epics, two of them decent.......Tal Rasha helm with 279 int, and a Inna chest with 198 dex and 90 vit (unfortunately no RA)....using the Inna chest now. The other 3 were a Skorn with 1400 dps and 198% CD, Blackthorn pants which were meh, and a shitty monk helm, I forget the name.

I have never ever gotten more than 2 legs from a single run before, so this makes up a little bit for past frustrations.

Best of all I crafted a nice amulet after 20 tries:

+292 dex
+145 int
+75 RA
+282 armor
+51% CD
+9.5% CC

Obviously I wish the int was vit or something else useful, but I can't really complain about the rest, it upped my dps by 10k, and before the patch there is no way I would have been able to afford an amulet like that. So so far I'm liking the changes since the patch =)

As a quick aside if you're doing something similar to a high MP Alk run you can set your quest to kill the spider bitch, then kill Azmo go to act 4 and kill the first two bosses that drop plans. I was finding this more fun than just Ghom last night. To more elites to kill as well.

Was wondering if someone could take a look at my barb and my monk and critique them. I was originally split between rend and WW with my barb, I ended up preferring WW but I think my gear is pretty unfocused. My monk I slapped together with whatever leftover cash I had at the time, so she seems kind of all over the place.

Mainly looking to up my damage on my barb, anything over mp1-2 and elites just seem to take forever.

The only new pattern drops I've gotten have been gems and amulets. No armor. Prices have tanked like crazy since the first night except for maybe marquise emerald?

I had a shitty run of legendaries the past two nights... 2 frostburn gauntlets, a storm shield and an ivory tower. But I did get a Tal Rashas chest which was a nice upgrade for me.

The barb has quite a few issues. Mainly the CC is too low to effectively run the build. I imagine you really can only pop WotB for one elite and it dies mid battle. Next you have virtually no crit damage boost. I'd advise to move some stats off vit/RA and move them into CC and CD items. Get rid of the Oculus Ring for a rare with str/cd/cc. A more costly effort would be to find a MH that is both socketed and has CD on it by nature. Finding a 1000+ DPS axe/mace with socket and 90%+ CD + Socket is quite the expensive effort. Instead of taking WOTB since you don't really have the fury generation to keep it up for 1 minute+ I'd consider dropping that and taking Overpower w/ Killing Spree.
