I know someone mentioned earlier that its basically DH>Wiz for ranged dps. Is this a super huge gap like instant kicked out of groups or is it passable enough? I played DH last season and was debating playing again when my finals are over this week. I always enjoyed my Wizard the most but if its DH again at the top I may just try a Barb instead if its too much of a hassle to play a Wiz.

Been having a lot of fun since coming back for season 3. Now have more plevels on this character than on my main (and better gear) in about 1/3 the play time. Been 4-boxing DH's and all now have 6p Unhallowed, deadmans legacy and 3 with F&R, main only has restraint so far but weapon makes up for that

This is where I'm at currently with main (try and keep all 4 characters about equal in power so if one dies the rest still have a chance to finish a fight), the meticulous bolts was me trying out a different build based on the weapons

Only thing left now are 3 more bows and 4 witching hours :/....then the grind for full ancients on all four
Out of curiosity how do you 4-box in D3 anyway? Just leave the 3 at port-in then carry with your main or do you bot them around or what?

Nah, use ISBoxer and mouse and keyboard broadcasting. It's a slight pain to keep movement sync perfectly (like I suck with WW barbs) but as long as you keep an eye randomly on other screens you are fine. Hardest part usually is affixes like waller or wormhole and not picking up crafting mats on non-mainscreen.

Only time I leave 3 at entrance is if I'm powerleveling.

They could fix a lot if trials were removed and you could just spend a greater rift key to get into the highest level rift you've beaten in time + 1.

Also the gap between people still doing t6 and those running 40's speed with exp gear is laughably huge. You're basically wasting your time in t6 these days, greater rift 35 is about the new T6 with power of the new gear that's been introduced. People can do speed 40's with exp gear and get from 1-600 + paragon in a couple days easily. The way group exp bonus/exp gear/exp gems and the exp bonus from greater rifts interact makes leveling too easy. Like P800 after a week easy. Not sure where they are going with this but kinda defeats the purpose of paragon points when they're maxed out so easily in the season. Anything outside of doing greater rift 35+ with a 4p group just feels like a huge waste of time.

Besides that.. having a lot of fun with the new tal rasha set pieces but there's a lot of glaring issues at end game that i'm hoping get sorted out for season 4.
I started playing this weekend and made a ladder character, got boosted to 70 fairly quickly and then I got to tag along in rifts for a while. Got some plans and made cain / born gear with ring of royal grandeur, along with upping the +exp gem a bit and leeched in some greater rifts (think it was 35-37). After playing a total of maybe 15 hours across the weekend, I'm now paragon 370ish and my wizard is almost geared enough (just missing tal rasha's neck + the double hydra wand). I really enjoy this model compared to barely clearing torment 3s which took freaking ages previously

I've poked around online and haven't really found any defintive answers to this question so I'm hoping you bros here can help me out. On the d3 wiki I read that the chance of ancient gear dropping scales from 1.5% to 10% when going from Torment I to Torment VI. Is there further scaling in greater rifts that are more difficult than Tormet VI? Or am I better off just ripping through Tormet VI rifts to try to grind for ancient gear? I've had seven (!?) IK weapons drop now, and not a single ancient among them, I know RNG blah blah, but I'd like to optimize my chances that number 8 is the lucky one.

Nice. Wizards are in a better shape then they ever have been during RoS. We can finally hold our own in end game groups (now GR60+) in place of a DH, before with firebirds set the dmg just wasn't there. With properly geared tal rashas going for attack speed you can bust out dmg close to a krider DH.

Keep an eye out for a good Aether Walker and Serpent Sparker.

Right now DH is top tier but wiz is still a lot of fun, I've never really had a problem getting groups. Some people like to run only x2 dh for whatever reason but other people like 1dh 1wiz, depends if people know you and you're good they'll still want to group you. I think some wizards just die a lot and get a bad rap.

I scored a nice ancient focus ring this weekend and now have the pair. That brings me up to full sets of all armors, nicely rolled although non ancient IK weapon. Pair of BK weapons but not ancient. Also nice CoE and nice RoRG. Still missing the follower invincibility trinket so I have survivability issues on higher grifts until I get that.

Is Focus/Restraint worth using? I messed around with it a bit this weekend and couldn't figure out a good way to make it work in as you lose the RoRG bonus and I was missing the CoE proc. I want to like it but it seemed like a dps decrease.

I enjoy the fact that seasons allow you to shamelessly play the fotm class. Rolled a barb with all the cool kids and am having a lot of fun whirlwinding and rending everything. I'm also liking that it took a lot less time to become t6 viable this time around.

You can't use F/R with WW/IK.

I use F/R. Shit does insane deeps. I just use weapon throw as my generator since I can whack someone from across and screen and it doesn't leave me exposed to getting hit while I have to cancel my WW.

The levels of difficulty where a WW barb can use F/R, getting hit while not WWing really doesn't matter. Merciless Charge with the cooldown reduction rune provides some nice utility towards improving clear speed. Gogok + 10% paragon almost gets it to 5s cooldown too.

Agreed. I see people using it with IK set + BK weapons, then they use WW with dust devil rune. Doing this loses you the huge WW damage effect. To me it seems to defeat the purpose.

That setup has fantastic AE damage if you go slaughter and miri, but it's STD is horrible. Plus, you probably still need a Unity at higher grifts.

Methinks they could up the drop rate on gifts slightly, nearly 400 paragon in the new season and I haven't gotten a single one. Luckily? I haven't found a weapon worth using one on yet either so I'm not too butthurt about it, but that seems a bit excessive.

Today i got in 3 hours both Bul-Kathos weapons in ancient ( ~2700-2800 with 10% dmg ), 1 Ramal Gift and 1 CoE Ring with 197% dmg / 6% crit and a strongarm bracer with 30% knockback

Going for this build :http://www.diablofans.com/builds/553...s-wotb-ip-24-7

I guess i was lucky.
That build looks fun but you better be able to keep ignore pain up 100% of the time if you dont' have a unity and that drops you are going to explode like a meat pinata.

Strongarms are part of the DIBS category, so I'm not sure that's worth it over the better Ignore Pain runes. Bloodshed has been nerfed, ItF is better for straight dps.

IAS might be better than damage% if it lets you reach a breakpoint.

Not really. Still a boring grind game with diminishing returns as you get more geared. I got bored faster in s3 than the 2 previous seasons.
