Any of you playing a barbarian? I'm working on getting 6 piece Wastes. I've been saving up yellow one handed mighty weapons to reforge. Any other suggestions?
Keep your IK pieces while you're at it. IK6 + Gavel seems to be better that WoTW6 + BK2. Top of the non-seasonal leaderboard is dominated by them and I'd like to think at least one poopsocker would have done a higher grift with WoTW6 if he could.

Also, HoTA is more fun. WW is so god damn boring.

Focus and Restraint for rings with Wastes build is a must.

Start leveling your Gems now too. That shit adds a ton of dps. Bane of the Trapped, Taeguk, Bane of the Stricken or Gogoks. Even Pain Enchancer.

Lamentation belt is nice if you like periodically rending.

A well rolled Hellfire Amulet is BIS as well.

FnR is a bit clunky with WoTW since you have to interrupt WWing to do it, which also drops your 40% DR. It's the same reason a lot of wastes builds don't even have rend on their bar. When you start needing that 40% DR at all time, PoC will probably be a better belt.

I need bane of the trapped.

So I'm just getting my head wrapped around gearing up strata. Run rifts over and over for lootz and grift tokens. Save up mats to upgrade rares for missing shit, hopefully proccing ancient. Reroll stats on gear for good stuff.

Farm mats to help extract shit in cube etc.
Use shards to gamble slots.

What do people do with follower gear? Does it matter?

Just trying to think what I'm missing. I can do t6 now and getting to the point of fine tuning.

Got a link to the Hota Build? While collecting my wastes set, I managed a full IK set. And yeah WW is pretty boring.

Followers are kinda shit, since they spend most of their time in the dirt once you go past T6, but Unity on them and you+ the token that makes them immortal gives you cozy 50% DR. Templar is nice as a walking health potion and extra resource generator, the rest are meh.

Deathwing - Community - Diablo III

It hasn't updated in a day, I replaced Birthright with Smash. And I'm missing a decent Ancient Fury shoulders, which would let me cube a strong arms. Esoteric can be changed for a Taeguk and there's flexibility on passives.

Templar is kinda nice outside of the stuff Zaphid mentioned. Put the right gear on him(like in my link) and he's a single target stun/freeze machine.

Unity pairs used to be a must-have for higher grifts. Then people switched to zdps absolute CC lockdown builds, now it's all about defensive gem synergies. But yeah some builds still run unity for soloing high GR's.

Optimizing templar DPS is actually a whooole other minigame anyway. At the highest grifts ppl are distinguished more by how RNG was generous to them since their builds are identical, so every slot where they can eke out an advantage matters....and it the templar's slots tend to be the ones closest to the mobs so things like the overwhelming desire and the bul-kathos rings are huge. Bul-kathos especially since it does .3% of the mobs HP every second (capped at 2k% wpn dmg)---which makes it actually more effective at higher grifts than anywhere else.

You can totally make the templar a serious source of damage tho, but bear in mind that follower CHD is capped at 150% and they already start at 50% so you wont need a green gem on their weapon. You'll want to stack red gems and +phys if you're gonna do the bul kathos ring.

Unity is solo only, so not sure why you brought up zdps as a reason to not use one. Same thing for defensive gem "synergies"(what?).

Yes. I'm sure there are exceptions here and there but mostly yes.
Not everyone now, they diffused a lot of survivability onto new skills and gem synergies so that people didn't feel locked into unity. I don't think WDs bothers with any CC anymore since 2.3's DR fixes, either. It's partly why the beartooth build is doing so well when suwong is better dps---it's just more survivable, especially with moratorium and gizzard.

Even without unity, the templar ends up being a major source of dps in higher grifts, if only because you spend so much of your slots optimizing your survivability. Whereas in a casual grift-farming build for <GR50 templars might might be 2% of your total dps, it goes higher and higher until you see folks claiming their templars are15-20% of their dps at their highest attempts.

So I have the full Uliana's, lion's claw, fist of az, FnR build. I've been geared every season but this damage is unbelievable. A wizard and I duo'd a 54 rift last night and we killed a 345 billion hp guardian in less than 40 seconds. We were doing a combined ~9.5 billion dps with no pylons. This is ridiculous. Personally I'm glad they opted for full damage over full defense builds. With all this built in cheez you can start switching out dps gems for defensive ones etc.

I'm using convention of elements which makes for LOL cold ring moments. I'm not sure about that broken promises shit as much of my gear has crit on it already.

Every helltooth build runs Piranhado, which is CC, especially with Grin Reaper mimics spamming it. No one runs Tiki visage+horrify anymore because no one plays zDPS WD anymore but that doesn't mean CC is useless, it's just useless at completely locking down stuff, but it buys you enough time to burn shit/interupt attacks constantly. And I don't think WDs use moratorium either, it's Esoterics that's good, Physical is a non factor most of the time because nothing actually melees you and swampland gives a lot of physical, you want elemental resists so you don't die to random afix bullshit stuff. WD is one of the few classes, maybe even the only one that doesn't run Unity, due to how good Swampland Attunement is, though it's still an option and probably needed for acid cloud builds for really high GR.

I got myself a bulkathos ring earlier and I've been thinking about putting it on my templar, but I needed death breath to craft the thingie so he doesn't die constantly at high tier. Then got sidetracked into making an efficient WD farming build with sage set, took a bit but I got one that clears T8 fast now so getting like 5-6DB per minute on average, pretty cool shit. I did have to craft a bunch of sage gloves to roll the right stats though since damage was an issue with no real set due to sage slots being shit versus WD slots.
