I have been using this build (which someone shared a few pages back), sorry I used the calculator from memory and hopefully got it right. (*Profiles were down earlier but back up now... see new link below)

I had been using something similar before but was off on an ability or two. I've had great success with it. Awesome to just hold down chain lightening and meter essentially at the same time.

My build is more like this than Silence's build but some differences... Paralysis instead of Dominance, Sparkflint on Familiar instead of Cannoneer because they nerfed Familiar damage, but otherwise I think it's the same.

I used to run Frozen Orb but stopped in favor of meteor. Might go back to it but haven't seen any reason to ditch meteor.

With proper area effect damage frozen orb is insane, but lighting builds that just stun everything work too.

Come expansion DH IMO with set gear will be the best, all pets out at once to include bonuses AND sentries shoot your equipped spender...going to be insane.
Who uses sentries though? And the bonus to use hatred spenders has a long internal cooldown and I've read pets can only get 50% critical damage. The only thing that could make it interesting is pets share your crit, so if you use sharpshooter and don't attack and have all the pets, +3 wolves from that cloak, and five sentries out they all will be critting 100% of the time, but just shitting out sentries and vaulting all over the place seems really lame even if it were to be effective, I really hope that playing a necromancer dh doesn't become the most effective way to play it.

My opinion is that it goes Wizard > Monk/WD > Barb/DH or so.
I leveled 4 classes to 60 in 2.0 on hc and yeah pretty much agree. My wizard and monk are about the same, haven't played my WD in months though. Barb and DH are not quite as good but I could easily see that changing with some gear. Wiz is FOTM but I don't really see why, they seem good and its nice that theres a few different viable builds but I'm not seeing the OP, if anything she's a danger to elites in hallways much more than other classes right now. Game is in pretty good shape balance wise I think. Of course that all changes next week.

Sort of interesting that they combined paragon levels to make the game more "account wide" rather than character specific.. and then loot 2.0 reverts that. I would love an option to turn off loot 2.0 or something but yeah Blizzard never does that stuff.. though they did eventually put in skip cutscenes.. which of course really needs to include quest dialog. Meh.

Didn't know it had a cool down, I figured it would be three sentries blasting rapid fire or whatever. With a cool down loaded for bear cluster arrow would be best and yeah not a huge amount of fun.

Sparkflint is nice for the 10% boost. Magic Weapon/Force Weapon, Familiar/Sparkflint, Glass Cannon alone are good for an always on 45% boost to damage. Energy Armor/Pinpoint armor is good for 5% to CHC. This is what I use to solo T1-4. T5 soloing can be a bridge too far for my build. T2 farming is excellent for speed xp ratio, so that's where I stay pretty much.

Yeah I use similar, I guess i just don't like the mechanics. Might try WD next.
Yeah, that's the problem I have with Wizard as well. It's a solid class, does decent damage, etc., but I'm just not a fan of how it "feels" when playing. If every map in the game was a series of rooms/corridors, the Wizard would be awesome. But, the more wide open things get, the more things like frozen orb, blizzard, etc. start to break down.

My first D3 character was a WD. I might have to try one again. Leveling one seems painful because the damage doesn't seem to be there at the early levels.

Sentries are pretty good imo, I used them most of the time, they do reasonable damage now, if the fight lasts for more than 5-6seconds then they're insanely effective in hatred. Granted if you're farming white mobs it's shit, it's mostly for rare packs and stuff which I kill. They'd be a fuckton better if they were charge based though, like dashing strikes, so you could drop 2 sentries right away at the start of a fight instead of dropping one then waiting then dropping another.

For the pet crit dmg yeah it's capped, and they don't benefit from every stat either(like area damage) but still it's a ton of pets doing quite a lot of damage each, most of which is cleave damage too, and you get 10%movespeed(so 100dex from paragon), 100%gold find, 1hatred regen, 20% all resist, some flat small amount of life regen and a bunch of bodyguards so it's really a cool set.

I also stay on T2 because some champ packs take too long to kill on T3 (and I'm too squishy). Energy Armor is something that I think I am going to change to soon because Storm Armor just doesn't seem worth it.

I had that issue until I started doing them on Torment 2. Torment 1's drop rate just seems flat wrong, so if you can manage it try that shouldn't be that much of a difficulty jump.

WD pets changed A LOT since back in the day, they tank super well and do decent DPS. The passive that summons sycos is very op atm.

Id also rank it Wiz > WD / Monk > DH > Barb

I came back on a new account for 2.0 and leveled every class to 60, tried to get them all to over 200k sheet dps (+ element mods) to get an idea of where the classes sit. Wizard by far blows all the others away. I would say obviously its a lot of gear, Wizards at 210k sheet dps self buff to 400k and I have the 4pc which just shits meteors nonstop (I use Meteor dmg + elemental mods).

With Wiz imo anything works until Torments. People are using Frozen orb because its high damage that explodes, so if you get your spacing right where you cast it you can do double hits for a lot of damage. Meteor, specifically the arcane one hits like a truck if you can regen the AP to use it. Electrocute is enough with the AP rune and its pretty easy to get the arcane dmg boost for the meteor. Once you get the 4pc you want to proc by using all elements, which I found its best to use Frozen Orbs + Armor / Familiar / Teleport to proc the meteors. You can take a look at my build Drae, the teleport w/ calamity is the shit you basically use it nonstop and synergizes with torrent / disruption as well.

I agree with Barb being end of the scale, at least until you get the 4 piece set then they bump up the damage to insane levels while being able to just stand in the middle of packs of mobs using hammer or my preferred seismic slam.

The 4pc. bonuses for every class are pretty damn game changing. I wish they'd add some more sets, instead of being so damn unique/legendary heavy.

Btw they're having a weird bug atm with people logging in naked. Relogging fixes the problem and your gear doesn't actually disapear, but if you play HC you might want to double check everytime cause you'll die in one hit to anything if you're naked.

Is there a good guide on the Hellfire Machines you guys were talking about earlier? I'm getting burned out on COTA runs, and want to try something else.

Eyashusa's posted covered all the bases.

There are three keywardens, one in Act 1 Fields of Misery, one in Act 2 Dahlguar Oasis, and one in Act 3 Stonefort. There is also a keywarden in Act 4 Silver Spire level 1 that drops the infernal machine recipe and a chance to drop any of the other three keys.

The wiki Haast linked is pretty outdated since it talks about NV and Monster Power, but the locations are accurate. I think Squirt sells the Hellfire Ring recipe, not the Infernal Machine plans. Those still drop and they dropped for me the first time I killed the Act 4 keywarden post 2.0.
After you get the plans from the A4 warden, you can also farm him for a random key, apparently.

Way to have a hacking scare on the last day the AH is open, Blizzard.
