The Dex->Armor change is insane unless they completely retool OWE. Monks would have like 50m Toughness!

Adjustments to One With Everything has been a long-standing community request, but we wanted to make sure we could address this in a way that solves all of its components without reducing the Monk's survivability. There are two major issues with One With Everything:

Second, One With Everything is being replaced with a new passive called Harmony. Harmony allows 30% of your single elemental resistances from items to apply to all elements.

With these two changes, we can move away from a place where Monks are forced to rely on their secondary affixes for Toughness. It's possible you may see your Toughness as a lower number after this change is in effect, depending on how you've previously geared. However, the exchange of Dodge to more reliable survivability stats like Armor and more accessible All Resist should provide you roughly the same amount of survivability, and overall you shouldn't notice a big difference.

These changes will soon be available on the PTR, and we hope that you will take the opportunity to try them out and let us know how they feel. We're eager to hear your feedback on this and other changes coming in Patch 2.1.

Hopefully it's not needed anymore, but I don't see why they can't just let go of the idea completely. Some items are still going to be 5 affixes for best roll because monks(and all classes for that matter) don't get resist all on a lot of gear.

30% is not insignificant.

Haven't played since release but figured I'd give it another try. Any build recommendations for a 60 monk? Gear is pretty shit.

This is the best truly beginner monk build that I recommended to my friends:New Monk Build: Quantum Fire Phoenix - Monk: The Inner Sanctuary - Diablo III Class Forums - Forums - Diablo Fans

It's for level 70s with no gear, but the only difference should be Epiphany/Momentum/Mythic Rhythm which you can sub out as you please and reintroduce once you've hit the requisite levels.

The Dex = armor and the OWE giving RA from all secondaries are like the 2 things I wanted most for going back to my Monk. Everything else is icing at this point. Plus it lets me farm now without worrying about that 5th perfect slot anymore.

Like the dex change, like the leaderboard not being paragon levels which would be absolute fucking shit and dominated by botters and account sharers. Not sure I like the preparation nerf, hopefully it comes with other changes, cause while their reasoning on the cooldown does make sense(it takes about 20secs to get enough disc to use it again, probably less with nigthstalker though), the main use was to dump several bars of hatred in a row on clusters and kill shit in a burst, not necessarily in sustained combat. Hopefully they buff Impale and what not and let other builds be more viable, other than cluster spam and turret marauder thing(which is perfectly fine, it's just very gear specific and has a unique style that doesn't appeal to everyone).

Them retuning health globes and instead making most of your healing come from life on hit will really suck for Wizards unless they also tune coefficients. Wizards get almost no LoH from their gear currently.
Yep - they will need to completely buff coefficients for wizards for this to work or wizards will be even less viable than they are

That nerfs the fuck out of DH with good blackfeather. With that + Ballistics, that thing was shitting out missiles for 20m+ crits like candy.

It's why i hate it when game companies keep imposing their Vision(TM) on people. They don't think how much these changes affect things. Getting tired of playing this game a different way every time I pick it up.

Its getting to the point where you just have to play a WD to enjoy this game. They continue to fuck up and shit on every other class. WD are already the strongest class in the game with multiple t6 buildsandcontinue to get buffs nearly every update.

If they are unable to bring the other classes in line its going to be a pretty hilarious ladder with 90% witch doctors running around.

Meh. 2.0 changed a ton about the classes and 2.1 is supposed to be the next big thing, it's highly unlikely there won't be shake ups in the patch.

As far as I can tell, Blackfeather will fire just as much after patch - not sure what you are ranting about. You just won't dodge as much, but you'll still take less damage, cuz your armor rating will skyrocket after the patch.

Int classes dont really need +res all.

Yea, and they benefit a lot more from +Armor, whereas Str (and soon, Dex) classes don't need +armor but do benefit from +RA.

Uhhh dh most definitely needs +armor, its been one of the dh communities biggest issues that they are by far the squishiest class and don't get any real benefit in return. And obviously so do monks or you wouldn't have the majority using a passive that gives 30% of their dex in armor.

I like the changes as well. Bounties are so boring because the only one really worth doing is ACT 1 for a trifecta ring or in some people's case, a ring. The super gems should be very interesting. I hope they add some new passives, but I doubt that.
