Tried a few Grift upgrades, stopped at L22. Character is fine, therefore PEBKAC. I've been on cruise control in T4 for so long that I've forgotten how to play the game. I played an hour on T5, and that's shaping me up a bit; two deaths but a lot of dancing around. No shortage of DPS. I'll solo T5 for a few more hours until I get comfortable with it; move on to T6 and get used to that before I move on to upgrading Grfits.

In the last week, I went from T1/2 in a mixed set of Aughuild's/Cains and Thunderchicken to a totally different beast of a toon with a nice WoW and complete set bonuses from Tal's and Firebirds. At this point, tune up the PEBKAC, grab two Unity rings, and go bananas.

I'm not really sure where to go. I feel like my damage sucks when I am in groups. I flip flop Blizzard/Apoc for Disintegrate. My Apoc ticks are from 300k-600k and my Disintegrate starts at like 1.5mill and ramps up to like 8 mill. In my vault I have a full set of Vyr's, an SOJ with +fire damage. My paragon points are in movement speed, crit hit rate, resist all and area damage.

Am I on the right track? Is my damage level where it should be or am I making some mistake some where? Is there a specific act I should be farming for a certain piece of gear?

You are missing Crit Chance and Crit Hit Dmg almost everywhere. Start by rolling a socket on your weapon and adding an emerald. Then fill in the blanks elsewhere;D3Maxstatscan help.

Apparently there has been this exploit that allows you to gain absolutely stupendous amounts of exp in complete safety (for yourself, that is; others have to clear rifts for you).

During the PTR, the difficulty setting's exp bonus applied in GRifts, which it shouldn't. They fixed that... but evidently only inside the actual rifts. If you're standing in town, you get the +1500% exp or whatever it is T6 gives. So if you're in a party, you can stand in town while they clear a GR for you and you'll get completely absurd amounts of exp for the completion. People are reporting getting paragon 1-300 in four hours.

This has been available since the start of 2.1, but it didn't become common knowledge until last night. One guy reported logging off at rank 500ish on the paragon ladder of diabloprogress, and woke up to find himself at rank 3000. That insufferable KingKongor has been abusing the bug on stream all day, gaining like two hundred paragon levels. I doubt Blizzard will do anything about it except fix the bug, and for an exploit that's literally destroying the thing that was bringing D3 back into a positive light, they're not exactly being timely about it.

This season really has been a farce. The competitive aspect is already basically dead.

So I guess I made a mistake rolling a crusader for season. With BoP/season shield, full akkhan's and leoric's crown I cap out at grift 30ish (depending on mobs and map layout) due to survivability. Only thing I feel like I can do to improve is get some set peices that roll slightly better to get more res/dps. Anyone playing a cusader have any advice to do 35+? The class feels so weak considering I can do 35-37 on my dh with just casting sentry and vault.

Also, trials are annoying on my sader too, melee makes it hard to blow through waves to get a high initial keystone. Usually get 23-25 compared to 33 on dh.

Yeah it's fucking retarded as fuck that they don't test or listen to the community.. Or ban anyone for just about anything ever.. The one thing you know about Blizzard is that they won't ban anyone for shit this either you use the exploit while it's working before they hotfix it or get left behind.

Anyone have a good place that lists current viable monk builds? Coming back and my fire monk doesn't seem as good as it used to be. I was only able to limp my way through T3 rifts before, so it's not like my gear is good, but it doesn't feel the same and I'd like to go after a new build.

That doesn't add up. The quest xp for completion you get when you talk to Orek in town. The gem chick doesn't award a quest. Killing the RG doesn't complete a quest either. You would only get xp in town if the xp from killing monsters is somehow bleeding into town?

Edit: Maybe it's reversed. If you stand in the rift while someone turns in the quest in town, you get the multiplier or something. Either way, you turn in the completion in town no matter what so the "exploit" as you described isn't a thing, that's literally how the game works, you are in town for the completion bonus :p

Edit 2: It looks like it has nothing to do with the completion xp. For some reason if you go into the rift, stay for X number of mob deaths (guide was saying 10+), and then zone out, you still get xp for mobs killed in the rift even though you're in town. So that's broken on a couple levels really

Basically anything that abuses 4pc sunwuko. There are a few variations within that, just remember not to use any generators AND spenders with attack animations. One or the other.

Lightning with tons of procs or cold with rimeheart/fist of azturasq come close but not as good as above.

The official Monk forums are actually pretty decent for builds, largely because Druin and a couple others are crazy about crunching numbers. Genwuko is the top-end build now, which is Sunwuko 4-piece set + Flying Dragon + a couple other things to spam mantras for Sunwuko damage. Beyond that, Lightning/Cold both are solid as Deathwing said, my monk right now is lightning until I get the rest of what I need for Genwuko and I like the lightning style a lot.

Yeah, they changed it in grifts so you don't have to be near, or even in the same zone, as the rift boss to get credit. I suppose that means you get xp for mobs outside as well. Really hope they don't have to revert that change entirely because it is annoying having to have the same key for everyone to open the next grift and I know several runs would have been botched due to dc or town portaling when someone shouldn't have, but we were able to continue just because they got the credit.

Lost my 70/150 HC Monk with a full lightning build (TF, 30% lightning hat, bracers/offhand with ld et al) so I feel your pain!

Blow me submerged frozen mobs that freeze you before they even finish unburrowing on grift 22.

Can you link your DH profile? I put almost all my eggs in the DPS basket and I can't kill fast enough to clear a level 34 Grift.

Rough.. i'm too chicken to try grifts on my HC char lol
I haven't even done one yet but i have a couple trial keys in my stash

How do the levels work? level 25 is T6 isnt it? so what is T1 then?
