Speaking of controller support: anyone of you guys tested this on PC during the betas or slam? How "good" is this compared to the usual keyboard approach?

Controller support was fantastic in D3, the biggest issue is skills like leap/teleport having a set distance where you can get more fidelity with kb/mouse.

Yeah you can play with a controller on your PC, they made this for consoles too so this should be a no brainer.

Part of the reason why I'm being a bit obnoxious about this is that the more shit I say, the worse I'll look if I buy it, more incentive not to buy. The other part of the reason is my personality.
Diablo Immortal battle pass was decent value, I played it a lot for a month so I got that value out of it. Getting Diablo 3 on mobile was a good idea, they just didn't deliver an end game.
With this one I just can't justify the cost of the base game when my character is going to look like shit compared to the rats who bought the cosmetics, then a battle pass for the game as a service when we know the patches will be 6-12 months apart, then there'll be some issue or scandal they will refuse to patch.

if this was free to play I might join. But since they are charging $70-99 for a free to play game with shit seasons upcoming and a copy paste end game, nah. Figured after the acquisition I can go through it on Gamepass for the story which is 50/50 on being good or not and welp, that would be about it.Plus it was a pure bait and switch for anyone who fell for Overwatch 2. Not only was that not a sequel, they also canned PvE after promising that on the docket before people purchased OW2. These people need to get their asses kicked.
(PS: All trolling aside have fun my bretheren - I realize the first two weeks of this is all fun with friends

Easily as good as D3 if not better. After I tried it (only really played the first beta) I didn't go back to keyboard. Very fluid and the limited number of skills and abilities work well with buttons. Buttons are tied to skill slots, so you easily set skills to the buttons you want them on.
Only downsides I assume are if there are skills that you manipulate a range / splash point on. If a build/class has many of those, I'd probably go keyboard and mouse.
I am going to try
as my first. Pure theory craft summoner build as he hasn't actually played this end game and he assumes a lot in terms on how skills/stats will work, but sounds like a good slow build for my first time. I am always partial to summoners (Mage in EQ) and I like to just run around and explore the first time I play any game and don't need a zip around build. That's more of a later thing for me if I have to "redo" content, like in POE.

Also worth pointing out that content creators like fextralife and streamers like kripparian have sunk a lot of time making wikis or previewing the game.
They can't come out and say "yeah it's a mediocre first playthrough with a shit endgame, so don't bother with my build guides".

Not sure where fextralife came from but I first saw his wiki/video stuff with Elden Ring. I bet that game made him a lot of money.
The game has to be good to get people excited to try solid builds, any idiot can make a bad build and unless a game is high drama, you only gey views for one "this game sucks" video.
