Decent game..
Questionable price.
Up in the air on how much will be pay-walled.
Up in the air on if there will be pay-to-win Micro Trans.
If you don't care about the potential drawbacks, it'll entertain you, it's Diablo 2+ basically. Dark story, more along the line of D2, cool visuals and comes from the franchise known for the best ARPG "feel" on the market.

Welcome to 2023, where pretty much all game companies try to pilfer their digital wares on you. Some are more obtrusive than others, but this one at least so far is not. Just dont buy the shit. I have not purchased anything digital other than a few wow tokens over the years. As to the price of the game? Its what, $70? I bought he deluxe for $80 so I could play earlier and get season 1. Ill tell you this, I got about 30-40? hours of story and grind out of my first character so far and hes like 52. Just hit and scratched the end game and prob hit up 1/32 of all the dungeons. And thats not even including the alts I wanna try. I mean to each their own. Ive bough games that had 1/2, shit 1/4, content of this for $60 before many times.I mean, you have me at D2+, but you'd lose me at paywalls and microtrans. I'd love a D2 spiritual successor, but that shit ruins games for me.
So I saw your neck and I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but there MAY be a bug with items basically getting an inherent 50-100% to all stats on Sacreds. I got some 2hand sword at 50, not a named, just a rare Sacred, had fucking 1700 dps and the IMPLICIT instead of like 11-15% crit strike damage was 49%. Guildmate had the same thing happen. Even 10+ levels later I've not seen anything DPS wise that touches it.FYI: I beat the level 70 capstone dungeon at level 62, go into T4 and the lowest level zones are level 73 and everything just eats me.
That was not worth it.
PS: More item porn from my character:

No issue dropping 70 on a game that plays l like D2, so long as I can ignore microtrans and not feel like I'm missing out. I really didn't like D3 though, so that's why I'm a little gun shy on D4.
What's the cutoff then? So because I can afford it, should I pay $100? $200? I mean, I wouldn't want to miss out on the rush of...what exactly?
I'm glad you mentioned Call of Duty. Played the shit out of CoD MW with friends a few years ago. When MW2 came out last year, I was a bit reluctant to spend $70 on it. Did it anyway and you know what? It fucking sucked. Know what it also did? Set the precedent that games should cost $70. If everyone told them to fuck off, you know what they wouldn't charge next time?
All I'm mostly saying is that I'm seeing a lot of sentiment that the game actually isn't *that* fun. Worth it if it's a throwaway game for $30. But not fun enough to justify double what a game like Last Epoch costs.
And I read this thread to see if the game is worthwhile. We've got hundreds of threads about different games. Should I only read the ones I actually buy?
As far as we've seen micro transactions are purely cosmetic. As far as D2 or D3, this game is very much D3.5 so if you didn't like D3, I don't think it'd change your mind much.No issue dropping 70 on a game that plays l like D2, so long as I can ignore microtrans and not feel like I'm missing out. Eh, there's a lot of systems borrowed from D3 but Helltides and the PvP zones are already more fun than anything D3 had.As far as we've seen micro transactions are purely cosmetic. As far as D2 or D3, this game is very much D3.5 so if you didn't like D3, I don't think it'd change your mind much.
It's immortal and WoW thats making me trigger-shy.
Immortal still flies under the blizzard flag with tons of Micro Trans, people can make excuses all they want for it..it's still a pay to win game sitting under their name.
WoW (Diablo 3 and destiny 2 as well) pushed the idea of immediacy of DLC via content vaulting. WoW with prior quest content going away, Destiny 2 with worlds going away, Diablo 3 with seasonal (albeit, free, content) content going away each season.
It all just sets a precedent of expectations that I just wanna wait out a bit and see what "New Mangement" has in store for its consumers.
It’s shitposting on threads you are on the fence on. Some weird form of virtue signaling that you refuse to buy a game others are enjoying, so you have to make them feel bad about it?
To me this is nothing like either game. Its its own thing, which is not a bad thing. I will say that this, at least what I have seen so far, is way better than D3. D2 is a classic so ita hard to tell if this one will top it. Its got a way to go for sure, but its got huge potential. As far as we've seen micro transactions are purely cosmetic. Buy a few tokens to sell now, use the gold to buy them back later when they crash back down.I just wanted to drop in and say a hearty FUCK YOU to Diablo for running the WoW Token price through the dammed roof.
That is all..
Carry on.
