If you are a D23 member, which I guess is Disney's little cult thing, you get "free" 3 years of Disney+ (D23 is $100/yr). You can only grab it this week at
Came here to post that

Not good the site has been basically down for 12 hours, hopefully its just this little microsite they didn't think about vs the entire Disney back end is not scalable and will crash and burn on launch day.

everything you need [thestreamable.com] to know about Disney+:
  • Price: $6.99/month ($70 a year) / $12.99/month for Disney+ Bundle (w/ Hulu with Ads & ESPN+) / $141 for D23 Deal
  • Launch: US, Canada, & Netherlands (Nov. 12) / Australia & NZ (Nov. 19)
  • Supported Devices: Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Xbox, PS4, iOS, & Android
    • Currently no support mentioned for Fire TV & Smart TVs
  • Streams: 4 simultaneous streams
  • 4K: Video up to 4K UHD, support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, & Dolby Atmos
  • Downloads: Unlimited Downloads on 10 devices
  • Devices: Up to 10 devices logged-in at once
  • Profiles: Up to 7 Profiles with hundreds of avatars
  • Parental Controls: Special kids mode with unique interface
i wonder if Samsung, LG, Sony, etc TVs will get Disney+ apps.

Uggg. No fire TV. That is what we have on all 3 tvs. Mine is also a LG Smart though but I haven't flipped over to that in 6 months.
Amazon is a bitch when it comes to competition services. Like for example it throws Twitch at you( owns twitch ) but isn't allowing Mixer app.
They just allowed Youtube App on Fire TV a few weeks ago for the first time and eased up on Google play things some.
I usually have to root/break my tablets/phones from Amazon for Google Play since Fire is basically android and about 90% of the Google Play/Android apps work on fire once you unlock it.

Going back to a earlier comment I made about Direct TV Now. My AT&T account now properly shows ATT NOW ( used to be Direct TV Now ) and packages are back to sane levels from the insanity weeks ago. Starter package is $40 and carries a good selection of channels up to top tier $75 which has a ton of things. When I hit stream now, it said Sorry, we are still working on things, check back soon.
So I'd expect ATT Now to be up and running within days/weeks. AT&T unlimited customers also get free HBO for life of service. No perks yet for unlimited internet that I saw so far.

I did grab Hulu for $2.99 a month from that site though. Good deal.

the offer from D23: The Official Disney Fan Club seems to be working now, I signed up for 3 years with the offer in my account (takes 12-16 hours after you sign up with D23 for the offer to show up) for $141. After you pay you have to create a seperate Disney+ account (just user/password) and then pay, and it takes you to a "founders" page with a countdown of launch.

It kinda feels like a bit of a "gun to the head, wanna signup?", but $140/3 years works out to $47/yr or $4/mo with 4k, 4 streams/10 devices during those 3 years. hard to really beat that, even just letting grand kids stream shit on their tablets more than justifies the price. If any better deals come along can just add to the time down the road. I don't care at all about hulu or ESPN though so makes it easy for me.

The offer on D23 will only run till Sept 2nd so if you are on the fence you have until then to figure out what to do.

Yeah, wife was hoping there'd be an option with Hulu, but at under $4 a month, we can pay for Hulu separate and it'll still be under the $12.99 price. Shit, if we can get Hulu for 99 cents a month again, we'd get both for like $5. 3 years of Disney content for less than a single year of Netflix.

Current Hulu deal is $2.99 for 6 months billed monthly so I did that. So with Disney you'd get both for $7 a month for 6 months and knowing Hulu they will run another sale before March.

I told my wife about the D+ deal. All she had to do was click become a D23 General member part and sign in using her Disney account. I'm surprised she didn't even know about this site since she is somewhat of a Disney nut. Anyways, we are just waiting on the email so we can redeem the offer.

Where is the $2.99 6 month Hulu deal?

I'm good to go. Thanks for the heads up. Signed up for D23 today and already had access to buy. So much for the 3-day thing.

Oh yeah, best thing about this is after the 3 years expires, it'll auto renew at $69.99/year fee. Unless you cancel it. So if they up the price before then, you're good to go. If they lower it for whatever reason, you'll have to watch out.

when the service goes live just go in and cancel auto renew, thats the first thing i always do with any sub service. its still good for the time you paid, it just won't auto renew at whatever silly price they set in 3 years.

also chrissy teigan (and probably many others) have some sorta deal where you can get hulu for $3/mo for six months, i assume its the ad version

thats not the entire list, there is obviously more. Not every MCU movie will be on, they have to wait for deals to expire from NBC, Netflix, etc before clawing back all the Marvel movies. This is the list of new content launch titles that will be available on day 1, other stuff like the MCU TV mini series - Wandavision, Loki, etc - will be making their debuts in 2020 and 2021.

Mandalorian - 10 episodes, 1 per week?
The World According to Jeff Goldbum
High School Musical the Musical
Marvel's Hero Project (reality show)
Forky Asks a Question (Toy Story 4 short series spinoff)
Lady and the Tramp live action remake movie starring Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux

Was reading the list and wondered if that was all of it, until I saw your note about it not being all of it. Having a hard time not justifying the expense for D+, kudo's on Disney for that.

I've wanted to go back and rewatch all the old Disney shorts for a long time. I used to rent a bunch of different VHS tapes as a small child and I'd really like to check them out again in HD.

So will this be an extension to Hulu? How do they plan on deploying a Disney+ app? Do we know what kind of App support it'll have?

I'll be looking forward to Jake and the Neverland Pirates for my kids.
This was somewhere a few years back. My now 6 year old son loved it and watched it a lot. Don't remember where we were watching it though.

its an entirely new app, it'll be on mobile phones and Apple TV and roku. no word about amazon fire stuff, not sure about chrome sticks, or smart TVs. i'm sure new TVs next year will have it built in, hopefully they also add an app to existing TVs but i doubt it'll be wide before launch

I'm a bit sad.
A long long long long long time ago not very far away, about 3 miles in fact, it was 1984 and my family was the first to get cable tv installed on our block. It had this neat little box on top of my clunky 100lb 19" tv set and I was just becoming a teenager. I changed the channel to channel 19 to start. Disney. What's this? Cat from outer space. Hmm!
My first cable tv movie was a movie on Disney called The Cat from Outer Space. He needed gold to fix his spaceship. 35 years ago. Disney had been up and running a year in larger markets/cities so it wasn't their first movie but it was mine. It should be on that list.
