never heard of Detours
The Vulcan Reporter has learned that Disney plans to (finally) release the Star Wars: Detours animated series on its Disney+ streaming service.

The CGI-animated comedy Star Wars series never saw the light of the day since its initial announcement in 2012. While by default not part of the current Star Wars canon, as it was before the Disney buyout, it is also starkly different from the other animated shows in the universe. In fact, the series is a parody of the entire franchise, offering a comedic take on what happened between the prequel trilogy (Revenge of The Sith) and the original trilogy (A New Hope).

The show is set in the Star Wars universe and explores what daily life is like in a galaxy far, far away. There are no Empires striking back or attacking clones here. Instead, Star Wars Detours focuses on the universe’s regular folks and their everyday problems… which, to be fair, do frequently involve famous bounty hunters, crazed Ewoks, and even a Dark Lord of the Sith. Welcome to Star Wars: Detours: the other side of the stars, between the wars.

The voice cast for Star Wars: Detours is quite extensive, with some actors returning to reprise their roles from the films. Those stars include Ahmed Best as Jar Jar Binks, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, and Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian. Some familiar characters have new actors in the roles though: Seth Green voices Obi-Wan Kenobi, with Catherine Taber as Princess Leia, Andy Richter as Zuckuss, “Weird Al” Yankovic as 4-LOM, Abraham Benrubi as Darth Vader, and Seth MacFarlane as Palpatine.

Other actors without known characters in the series consist of Dee Bradley Baker, Felicia Day, Grey DeLisle, Donald Faison, Nat Faxon, Jennifer Hale, Zachary Levi, Joel McHale, Breckin Meyer, Dan Milano, and Cree Summer. Han Solo is also featured in the series, though it is still unknown who voices the character.

They added the Genndy Tartakovsky 2d animated Clone Wars to Disney+ recently. It is non-cannon now. Looks like they are throwing whatever Star Wars stuff they have to get more content.

Might as well. They're already going to be reusing the Marvel's Most Wanted failed pilot as a one-off episode during some Marvel anthology show they've got lined up.

Detours got quite a lot of attention at Comic-Con the year before Disney bought Lucasfilm and promptly buried the show because they didn't want meta comedy to detract from their relaunch of the brand with the new trilogy etc. I figured it was only a matter of time before they brought them out.

I could be totally wrong (and probably am), but Tom Hiddleston comes off as a guy you can just chill and have a beer with. He "seems" like a generally normal dude.

I've noticed most british actors aren't pieces of self entitled shits. They are more humble than the Hollywood assholes.

Free Guy and Shang Chi will be on D+ 45 days after theatrical release, Eternals will prob be same

Black Widow is theater and $30 home, probably 45 days too free after that

Mulan was 90 days, Raya will also be 90 days when it comes to regular D+ on June 4th, so I would assume Black Widow follows that pattern since its being sold as Premier as well.

Insiders at Disney say Alan Bergman, the former co-chairman of Walt Disney Studios with Horn, who was recently elevated to chairman of Disney Studios Content, will be taking the reins solo. There’s no plan for the company to bring in another creative head once Horn retires.

“You need that project that will inspire the next roller coaster,” the source said. Or, vice versa, as was the case with Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise and the upcoming “Jungle Cruise.”

“Studios don’t look like studios anymore,” sighed one producer.
We'll see if we have another Kennedy shitshow from the top down in the coming years.

Kareem Daniel sounds like he'll be calling a lot of the shots Horn was.

Disney’s move last October to restructure its operations elevated the executives who distribute Disney movies and shows over the ones who actually oversee their production. The shakeup also granted a great deal of influence to a top Chapek ally Kareem Daniel, who was elevated to chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution from his previous role overseeing consumer products.

Distro was elevated above production executives, under Chapek's orders.

That means people like Kennedy have to report to head of distro of Disney products.

Producers were placed beneath Distribution in the re-organization of Disney this past year.

This marks a major upheaval and re-organization of Disney creative.
