I'm going to go ahead and say it. The Divinity system seems to be best enjoyed straight up. It is that good. I would just have fun figuring it out.

Yea I get that. However, sometimes something will happen and I still have no idea what happened, or how things interacted with each other. Oh well I agree with you it definitely adds to the game.

Quick question, i just went through the hide out where the underground prison is in the fort and came up into some high priest doing some shit with a silent monk. Went into the fight at lvl 3 and there is 6 of them and seems abit challenging (gear isn't very good atm). Is this doable or supposed to be like the end of the fort or?

One other quickie, i had a chick take my main guys coller off and then got thrown in prison just on that charcter. It says find a way out but i can't fucking see h ow and there is no health on the door to break down? Tried running a rogue down to open from other side but nada

2 questions.

Is there an in game wiki? Information seems way spread out over the webz.

Are status effects always blocked if the respective shield is up? Do they always go through if said shield is down or is there some saving bonus roll/penetration for each scenario?

No ingame wiki.Divinity Original Sin 2 Wiki | Divinity Original Sin 2 Wiki seemed fairly updated, at least skills and such, but didn't check it out much, if you want to test stuff you can just fire the Gamemaster mode, spawn a troll with lots of Con for high hp, then spawn another char and give it whatever skills/gear you want and hit the troll.

Yes effects are always blocked, although some stuff goes through directly because they're not considered blockable effect(notably you can teleport fuckers around even with their full magic armor). They will always apply when shield is down unless there's a random aspect to it, but it seems they removed that part from D:OS1 where if you had too low int it would give you less than 100% chance to apply effects, I believe everything in the game is 100%.

Mind you, some of the CC is also 2 parts. For example if you want to freeze, you have to chill first, then freeze. Multiple applications in one spell will work(like the 3 little icicle spells you can start with, if they overlap you'll freeze in one spell). Similarily if you want to stun, you have to shock first. Exception to both is if the target is Wet(rain), they will instantly go to Stun/Freeze when you hit them with the appropriate attack. This works also in reverse for Burning, if you're Wet you'll go to Warm instead of Burning right away(generally since you're standing in fire you'll still burn after though).

Also most/all abilities will inflict their damage first THEN roll for armor. If an enemy has 1 physical armor left and you hit them with Bull's Rush, it'll do like 10dmg first, removing the armor, then apply knockdown which works because the enemy has no more armor.

For that fight you probably want to clear more stuff, it's one of the last fight before you escape(you can actually escape without doing that fight too). The 3 golems are in cages so they take several turns getting out, but you have to handle the boss+3casters so yeah it's rough at lvl 3, although not impossible I would guess.

For the prison I'm honestly not sure, I got caught too and wasn't entirely sure how to get out. What I THINK you're supposed to do is use the Teleport scroll you can loot in there with a character that's standing outside on your char inside, and get them out through the hole in the wall. I haven't tried as it sounds like a pain in the dick, I just reloaded and avoided the magister. You get a prison key in that area too but it seemingly disappeared when I got thrown in there even though it was on another char. Maybe they reset the key to where it was on the ground at first I didn't go check.

man this is fun, i'm sure my efficiency level is at about a 2/10 but it's still great, look forward to a second run through once I sort of have the good stuff figured out.

doable. Its a tough fight. say if you want strats, or want to figure it out on your own.
I reset ALOT to do it.

Collar is a bit of a psa. its really easy to escape, and there are several quests in the area, which are incomplete if you escape to early. haha.
Taking your collar off early, makes all magistrates aggressive to you. so, its probably best to not do that, until you are really ready to leave. Same with actually leaving. there is like 6+ways to escape...
I reset last night to an earlier save due to this. 2 hours back. 10h vs 7:30 hour. skipped back to before I gave buddy the red ball, took off the collar.. and entered the fort proper entirely. I killed flesner, and escaped. but reset due collar, red ball(emmie).

Theres even an achievement for beating Dallis at the front gate.

Love the undead inclusion. Made my solo character, was playing an elf cleric in a 3 man we got going last night. The poison wand is OP as hell. You spent a point auto-attacking ontop of Fane and he's got automatic heals for the rest of the fight.

Turns out this is one of those... "Oh shit its 3:30am games".

Im enjoying the hell out of this.

edit: Lol i killed the flesner by taking the advice of obi wan, went and immediatly opened up on the far left person to get them out of the fight immediately, then just stayed there with summons + totem walls.
Some 300 shit forcing them into a little area kek

Just about to hit level 6 and have cleared out the fort and a good portion of the swamp. Running
Red Prince - Fighter (sword&board): Building tanky with abit of reflect; at least at this point he is probably my most least valuable guy as he doesn't really get target much and my other 2 melee guys are in the mix. I have to find new warefare abilities for sale.
Beast - Inquisitor (2hand mace): Been pumping necromancy and int, so he dashes into fights and does decent damage and with the necro damage/heal ability with double healing from necro passive he is finally starting to be useful and does decent damage
Sebeillie - Rogue (daggers) - Does some pretty sick damage now and once you actually get some armor she doesn't die instantly so thats nice. Flesh + adrenalline lets her be able to jump in and really destory squishes or strip armor to CC people
Custom - Summoner (2H staff) - Pumping summoning, lvl 9 so be interested to see difference on incarnation @ 10. Normally never play summoner/conjures as i like to go all out damage but incarnation does some really good damage and keeps taunts etc and summoner still does decent damage after he summons

If i was readoing the start at least at this point i might consider dropping prince as fighter and use my 2H inquistor + summoner pet as the first line of defense and try ranager again. Ranger seemed bad early but with some gear and ability to keep spread out to avoid AE's + go 2 ranaged 2 melee might have been better.

Two questions;
1) How do you get collars off your other 3 people, did i miss it or is it further on? I'm about to go to the hideout in the far swamp just having killed the salamendars. Cleared the entire fort and under fort area. The chick that took it off my main guy won't do it for my others and i can't get a match in the anena again to get someone else the champion.

2) Anyone who has ran a cleric in group, do they bring much? Seems first 2 levels or you can die so easy but since i started finding gear and getting armor usually not a big concern at this point.

As soon as you leave the island the others will get their collars removed.

Just a minor bug for anyone doing character creation. If you highlight the warefare abilities when creating an inquisitor it says it will base it off "intelligence" but if you get in game it is actually actually stregnth on the tool tip.

Was going to start over because for no really reason other then thinking that my red prince who i made an inquistor used str based so i didn't want someone i had to pump 2 primary stats up on; and i saw the above on creation screen so thought they had switched it if you started that way on a custom chacter. But now that i am restarting....why not :)

Getting rid of fighter, thinking
Custom = Summoner w/ Ifan Orgin to take advantage of wolf pet
Red Prince - Inquisitor w/ 2hander
Fane - Hunter; I want timestop and figured initiative+crit be good for him
Sebille - Wizard; Flesh sacrifice has less negative impact with her being in the back. With Red prince with some more fire resistence and only 1 actual melee in the group may go fire still on her.

I just realized that Fane can eat body parts and gain regen just like an Elf. Top Tip for anyone not aware.

I also managed to rescue the cat that follows you around on Fort Joy. It's actually pretty handy.
You cast it like a normal summon. It's ability is switching place with it's owner so you can run it around the battlefield and teleport one of your characters around without having to use that character's action points.

There is a quest you can complete to have the collars removed before you leave the island.

There is so much stuff to explore on the island. I've got like 18 hours in between my main play through and one with the gf and still haven't done or found all of the things.

Ok in what circumstances when I heal party members do they take damage. When they are standing in blood?

None are undead but I keep killing my bitches on accident.

I also had the party's collars removed when I talked to Duggan at the seekers hideout. Wasn't a quest, just a dialogue. Had beast with me, might have been because of that

Anybody take Lohse? I've taken her, and the bitch seems cray cray. Sweet, but cray cray. I just want to know if I am gonna have to fight her several more times.
