man.. that preview of the episode, holy crap. Why does it seem like the last few Doctors REALLY hit their stride at the end of their runs? Also, the combination of Hartnell as the 1st and Capaldi has so much chemistry. I really wish they had put them together sooner, somehow. Capaldi's doctor always seemed inspired by the 1st doctor in many ways, it's so great to see them together.

Well, Capaldi is the first doctor in his new set of regenerations. It just too bad they screwed up his character writing for two series. He had the potential to be the best of the modern era Who.

Is it up anywhere on the net yet?
There not much reason to watch it.

Lesbian water alien is retconned to something else, doctors mock the show including SJW cringe, mark gatiss is still trying to be a serious actor and does some acting, cringe cameos and women can't drive.

So, exactly like each doctor since the reboot?
If anything, I'm pissed that the Doctor keeps making that same mistake. Every time he regens, the TARDIS crashes/blows up, so why not regen outside of it?

huh? No, it wasn't.
Bill still goes with her like in the last episode. The testimony just grabs you and copies your memories whenever you die. Heather (water lesbian) saves/rezzes her, they go on an adventure. The Testimony copies her memories and makes a duplicate of her. Possibly at same moment as Heather getting her, or maybe later on and they erase her memories in between, they didn't really go into it. But, it didn't retcon what happened between Bill and Heather at all.

Episode was fine, but not as epic as some episodes. Compared to other goodbye episodes, Tennant's is still the best. Smith's is 2nd, this is 3rd a little above Eccleston's. The problem is they never built up many connections for us to be sad at for ending. Tennant had Rose, Martha, Donna, Wilfred, etc.. Smith had a big connection to Amy and Clara. Capaldi and Clara never felt quite right, and Bill/Nardole had very little time to connect with us, so the goodbyes were weak. The callbacks to things all felt a little weak.

If this had just been a regular episode during a season, would have been one of the best, just didn't live up to the hype of a 'goodbye' xmas special.

Re: Bill

Bill's human body did die, but Heather turned her into a water alien thing. It could have been grabbed then or during the cyber conversion.

Yeah but what was all that pilot and passanger shit when the lesbian water alien appeared in bills first episode?

Then how does year 5 billion human tech effortlessly time travel and beat Daleks?

Difference with crashing the tardis is that previously the regeneration energy fucked it up but this time she pressed a single button and crashed it.

The TARDIS may have also done it on purpose. Wouldn't be the first time.
Guessing this. It'll be her first story in the Spring. The TARDIS was on its side trying to eject her.

Episode was fine. David Bradley was great. Just salty about how they wasted most of Capaldi's run.

What is confusing you about the pilot/passenger? It's implied a higher dimensional, or super far future, race that has supreme power by being able to control individual atoms is responsible for giving her those powers. She's basically a god. It was kept somewhat mysterious on purpose, but Heather is the 'pilot' and now Bill is the 'passenger'.

The TARDIS was already crashing when she pressed the button. She did not instigate the crashing, though she may have made it worse potentially. The running joke is the Doctor forgets how to pilot the tardis right when they regenerate, as their memories are all jumbled up. Smith forgot he was even crashing, Capaldi asked Clara if she knew how to fly the thing, Tennant was just passed out, so hard to say, might just be a thing since Moffet's run that Chibnall eventually drops. It comes back to them slowly, but maybe she pressed a button and forgot what it does or it had a different effect when the tardis is crashing that caused her to fall out. i.e. she turned off gravity by accident. Who knows? But, she didn't MAKE it crash by pushing that button.

Also, the 5 billion year human tech didn't 'beat' the Daleks at full power. It beat a single Dalek that had sabotaged a lot/all of their empire on that planet. That was what was implied to me, anyway. 'Rusty' had defeated most of the other Daleks there, de-evolving them back to their small organic bit. Their overall technology and power available to Rusty would be limited, as they have some hive mind esque powers. Same reason their database has so much info on it, it all gets shared between them. Also, all they really did was freeze time, and that's often been possible against Daleks individually or in small numbers. They have devices/technology they would use to combat the time control the Time Lords would use against them, but it's not like each Dalek had a portable version inside all of them. Just like the Doctor can't time travel outside the tardis. Now, the Cult of Skaro did have individual time travel abilities, but they were implied to be very special in many regards.

Plus, after billions of years, it's possible the humans are the new Time Lords or similar in terms of technology. It's always been said the Time Lords were basically humans exposed to the vortex over millenia that evolved them, and if you take away the technology of the high born gallifreyans (the actual 'time lords'), they aren't really that strong. Individually, they are basically humans with regeneration if they die. It's all based on the inventions of a handful of 'gallifreyans' that empowered the rest of them, basically. Nothing to stop a future human from doing something similar or finding similar technology.

All of these things were quite reasonable, not sure why you are complaining about those specific things. There were other issues with the episode, but certainly not these things.

Lesbian water alien is in Bill's first episode, it wants a pilot and passanger, can time travel at will and fuck with Daleks. It saves her when she dies.

Glass memory thing from the Testimony in the Christmas special can time travel at will and fuck with Daleks. It's saved Bill to its database.

Are these not the same thing despite looking and acting very similar? If they are the same I'm wondering where lesbian friend went and what the pilot shit was about. If they are different then it's confusing using a similar concept twice in a row.

The Testimony is more like the inverse of the tesselecta. The robot with miniature people inside that abducted bad people before their death, first seen in 'lets kill hitler'. They both abduct people before their death and replace them. One for punishment (hell) and the other for happiness (heaven).

If you wanted to complain that the idea is similar to that, moffat being deriative of himself, i could agree. If the pilot and testimony are similar to you because they are both 'powerful' and can time travel, there are a lot of things exactly like that.

Also, you keep calling the pilot the lesbian water alien.. heather was a regular girl, the pilot entity possessed her, and THEN the joint entity was the 'lesban water alien' you are so keen on calling it. It shows you really arent paying much attention to the episodes if thats all you remember about that plot.

And no, the pilot and testimony arent even remotely the same thing. Their plots arent related and have almost nothing to do with each other. The time lords (at the doctor's urging) saved clara a split second before she died and yet she was also 'saved' by the testimony too. So, are the time lords the same as the testimony to you?
