the minimal delay between games is huge, and awesome. Gotta be kinda rough on the players if it goes 3 games though. Like with EG and Ehome, feels like they only have a 5 minute break between games (it was actually 10) but god damn you need at least 20 after a game like that.

The last few years TI production has been on point and they somehow still improve it by a good margin every year. Really a spectacular event.

I dunno, I think they've gone overboard and are causing problems with the gee whiz production shit. Replays regularly run into actual relevant gameplay (there is a reason pro-sports only show replays while the game is stopped), the triple view entirely obscures whats happening, but the worst is doing hero zoom in view at the start of the game missing fights, kills and positioning...

Guess I wasn't the only one who thought Purge weatherman haha.

I really like the triple view in the beginning - it's nice to be able to watch every single lanes. Replays are sometimes an issue but work out more often than not. Completely agree with the hero view, I like watching them creep block and seeing who's going where.

How did you guys do the fantasy challenge for this day?
I put all my basket in DC (resolution, w33ha, saksa) and EHOM (icex3, fenrir)
I'm hoping DC knocks TNC out and goes for a 6 game day which is mucho points haha

TNC is good but looking from previous games most teams underestimated them and could have beat them if they played well. I'm hoping DCs experience will kick them out .

Edit: Also any thoughts are where the point brackets lie? I'm at 2230 which is ~400 points off the top but I have no idea where I stand.

They should probably put the hero zoom camera thing in a window while still showing the game when they're showing players. And replays do kinda break the action a bit especially when they're long but stuff is still happening. Not super important stuff, but you want to know if they went back to farming, if they're pushing a tower, if they went back to base etc.

To me it has a few problems, often it obscures whats happening around the lane (e.g. a support wrapping around) and they're too slow to swap when the gank starts. For timber its also troubling as the view is missing the buffs and the number of armour stacks (or whether he even has armour skilled) is the determining factor.

For the number of times these bozos say saving grace you'd think someone would have looked up the meaning.

I think I went w33, Shadow, iceiceice, Jimmy, and uh, can't remember the other support. I think I'm also around 2200, too. I have no idea how the whole stupid fucking thing works, to be honest. Also not sure how scoring for the bracket works.

None of this shit is explained very well.

I would've done better, but I misread the playtimes on Tuesday I think, and had players that weren't actually playing.

Edit: w33, iceiceice, mushi, Jimmy, Kuro. At 2185 points.

They have been playing with these rules since Frankfurt IIRC, so it's not like the players have no idea what to expect.

On time between games, have to also consider that sometimes teams want to play again right away and not give the enemy team time to recover. In this case for example, sure maybe EG wanted to take a break, but maybe they also wanted to press their psychological advantage. After a game like this, EHOME morale is in the shitter. So longer breaks go both ways, they're nice to calm down and collect yourself, but that also means your opponent gets the same time to do that, and if you won, that's probably not good. I think I remember an interview with a pro saying something like they had too long breaks between games at some tournament and it helped the losing teams too much.

The caster lineup this year is basically the cream of all Dota. When are you going to start casting? I'll sub to your twitch. :)

Casting doesn't sound fun to me, but I'm a believer that if you're going to do something you should do it right. I'm not a grammar nazi and most of the casters are fine, but both Captalist and Kotlguy can't finish a thought without incorrectly using words and phrases. Both also have a few other irritating tendencies which exacerbates the annoyance.

Other casters they work with (e.g. blitz) also periodically copy the the incorrect usages.

Its funny, the whole meepo cheating incident in the in-house league a few years ago makes me want to dislike w33 but he always seems so happy no matter the scenario.

First 10 min of this is going horrendously for TNC.

Edit: Lol at Tobi, "Classic Jimmy."

Edit2: 20 min in, 10k networth lead for the team going against an Alch. Uh, yeah...

Yeah, their insistence on Alch mid was their undoing, but W33 looks on point. Might be because I'm not native, but I really can't hear any incorrectly used phrases.

Rooting for Fnatic now, Liquid fans are obnoxious since the convo leak

Yay, made the right call with DC. Even after the first 3 games, DC cards are giving me ~40 points each which is great. 3 more games vs EHOME is going to be sweet.

No idea why kuroky keeps taking this kunkka pick for himself... has not been very impressive in the games I've seen.
