The losers finals were better, but you can't really blame them. Wings is pretty much unknown and the language barrier isn't helping, but congrats to them, even numbered TIs go to China, as was foretold.

For anyone on the fence about going next year, the experience is awesome. There is one person out of our usual Dota group that didn't go and he severely regrets it. Production was tight, can win free stuff, get a free gift bag of stuff, obviously meet the players and personalities as well.

Key Arena itself is balls however, older place, seats are very uncomfortable and the food is overpriced crap (churros were surprisingly good though). Food trucks outside make up for that part atleast.

My brothers are I are absolutely going again next year.

The Key has been garbage for a long time.. since before the Sonics left.

So Blitz is taking a break. Feels like an incredible mistake. I think he's fine at what he does, and that isn't good enough to decide to walk away from the scene for a while. No telling anyone is going to welcome him back.

Dude doesn't like casting and wants to coach, now a good point would be is if he was even deserving to be a coach considering he accomplished as much as Purge in his pro player career

I don't think that's particularly fair though. Bulba was EG's coach at TI5. Lumdum and Pajkat were just DC's coach at TI6. Other examples are out there. He also mentions wanting to maybe be a manager. There are people out there, like Purge, with incredible game knowledge but that lack the mechanical skill to compete at that level.

He's probably just emotionally burnt out knowing how he talks about his own personality and emotions. As an introvert it can be exhausting putting yourself out there, even if it is something you love to do, especially if it is I'd say. That's coming from personal experience. Even if you look back to some of the 1 on 1 AMAs he did for the TI5 EU hub, guy is extremely hard on himself. Don't know if those VODs exist but they were pretty good. It was like 3am or something over there and Blitz just sat there answering Twitch questions for a while, diving in to feelings and battles with depression and shit.

Blitz actually helped coach a team (Can't remember which) with Bulba. And talks about how much he learned, with strategies. Movements. Item timings. It was another of his twitch streams I think were he talks at length about how knowledgeable Bulba is at the game. And I think that's what Blitz wants as well. I think he far more enjoys being a student of game and trying to help other people learn and improve than he does casting. That and I also get he seems to crave a sense of belonging. Of being a part of a team and having that team succeed. The way he talks about his relationship with the teams he's worked with etc. So, I think its what he really wants to do. To be honest though, even as knowledgeable as he is I think it will be even tougher to succeed as a coach compared to being seen as successful as a caster.

He was coaching Liquid since before Shanghai, but since he also wants to cast, he can't really be with any team as a coach during the event, so I think he feels like he has to choose. I think a lot of people are a bit burnt out after TI and he can come back to casting any time he wants.

I've been avoiding this section while I watched the matches in replay (was too busy for live). Holy shit was the post-match interview with Wings terrible. Clearly, they didn't get the point of "words for your opponents". Just embarrassing. I hope someone explained it to them after.

That's the translators fault i'm sure lol

TI6 was awesome, i had 0 interest in DOTA prior to this event and i've probably put 40+ hours into the game since the qualifiers started. Playing a grown up moba is pretty fun but holy shit can it be frustrating (specially when you're playing with a dude that rages easily.. not playing with that nerd anymore) and losing an 80 minute game when you were far ahead early/mid game etc lol

My buddy has gone to TI for the past 4 or 5 years and says it's a lot of fun, i might look into attending next year since it looks and sounds really fun~

Was a well done event, the food trucks are very good food, definitely prioritize them. The weather the last two years has been sunny sunny sunny during TI for the most part. It has to rain one year. The post finals production was much better, I thought the fans and the champions got a little more time in the atmosphere of winning at the end which was superior. I'm glad they did the music before the finals not after, and I'm also glad it wasn't the shit that will not be named. They let the broadcast end like all of streamed esports events, with some post game as there is no secondary channel doing that.

Outside of getting a game 5 in the grand finals, the final day still had an epic game 3 in the first series. The games were wildly variable and while a few heroes were clearly at the top of the power curve and were first stage material, they seemed to be less invincible picks than in previous years past. I really like the fact that Dota has no repeat champions in 6 years. I think that speaks to the game well. They weaved in the extra content brilliantly this year, shortening the stare at the draft time when it's most open ended and has the least to discuss. The fan panel/draft panel combination was amazing for quality to the fans. The Purge Board is the kind of content the big events need to show someone who just starts watching Dota as a laymen of the depth of the game. That's something that has been severely lacking. Kaci and Slacks, for how much that shit makes me cringe really did work hard together. The complimentary water bottle you get for attending is the most useful thing you will have at the event.

I liked Purge's newcomer cast better last year, but it seems like they made a conscious choice to not have multiple casts of the same game. Instead putting Purge on Madden duty with the board. I get what you're saying though about TI giving hype for the game. TI5 is what got me started playing, and I don't want to look at my steam 'hours played' over the past year. I'd prolly cry.

If someone wants to hit me up about playing I'm Mao as a steam name. Maolain I believe is the Steam ID. Its a picture of a pissed off otter looking at a thing of ice water for my avatar.

I am completely cool with new people that want to learn. I can easily pick a hero to practice on at the same time.

Is pulling the most efficient way to get exp/gold as a support if you're in a lane with a carry?

I feel like if im in a lane as rubick with a carry i get cucked out of $$ to get a quck Eul's and aghs which makes me feel super useless until i can eventually farm one

If the carry only needs your support occasionally to avoid a gank or push out the other player(s), then yes. Pull a couple of camps and let the creeps take them out for you while you last hit them. This also keeps the wave closer to your side to further protect the carry.

Cool, i'll try doing that tonight. I'm not really a fan of the support role but rubick is too fun not to play (assuming their team has good abilities to steal of course).

edit:
I need to find a legit carry to learn, LC is fun but i don't feel like i can shit on people like jugg/slark etc can.

Been thinking of just focusing on rubick/slark/lc/pudge for awhile until i get more hang of the game.
