Fnatic vs Teamliquid in the bigpoint tourney didn't disappoint, though the Ursa was definitely a "well, fuck" pick.

whats this ixdl inhouse thing i see merlini and some other casters doing it, is it a clan or some dota forum?

nvmhttp://ixdl.net/

Someone needs to make something like this on the intermediate level, maybe not a ladder but a community for inhouses.

I dont see how some of these people have met the requirements on that site, seen some bad bad play and tons of retarded questions.

Jesus that league looks elitist as fuck. Why can't we just have a league to weed out the people who give up early on, that allows FF, and keeps out really terrible MFers (BRs, Russians, or just shitty mcshits).

I was half interested when you mentioned inhouse league, but trying to read the few threads on that forum is just hard. Guy loses to wisp in mid(didn't seem like a huge margin), explains he does not do well with the hero his captain gave him(which he told the captain) and that he was not told he was going mid so he didn't buy for mid. Admin still warns him for bad play against Wisp. Not to mention competitive players will be playing in this league, ass raping some of the "top tier" pubbers.

What a joke.

and yeah i know delly wish i knew anything about websites etc because shit i would just try to throw it together, maybe if this gets a ton of attention to the point where "pros" are just raping everyone, they might make a lesser league probably wont happen but can hope.

too bad theres like only 5 of us who play regularly it seems.

We have close to enough to inhouse, the big problem is scheduling. Second is that when people have time to actually play some dota, they don't want to spend 20-40 minutes seeing if people show up so they queue and are unavailable and everyone is basically desynced by game finishing times. Last is timezone, We have euro east west coast people so really the weekend is the best time for everyone from a timezone standpoint. We could try a Noon-3est on a Sunday perhaps. Or an Friday/sat night, like 7 est which is pretty late in europe but only 4 pst.

With the private lobby autobalance there is no reason/need to pick teams unless we find out it does a very poor job with our limited player total.

I've had games with like 5-6 channel people in the last few days, more than in the previous month combined, I just spam invite the whole channel when I log in - so if you want to play that's why.

Just played with some dude who bragged nonstop about playing IHL and how good he is, I don't think anyone would want to play with those dudes. Go read the NADota forums for an idea of the type of people in these games.

What's the average skill level in the foh channel anyway? I wouldn't mind joining some games in there, but I don't want to be the shitter in an otherwise good group. If we found a decent way to do some in-house, I'd be down for that. Just need to know what time, really.

As posted above, there is definitely a massive amount of variance in channel. We definitely have all levels of skill in the channel.

You shouldn't worry about being shitty (relatively), if someone is particularly high skill and they don't enjoy playing with people not at their level then those folks can opt out of grouping. The main difficulty comes if you queue as a full 5, sometimes the disparity in skill can cause nearly impossible match ups. I.E. 3 people who queue v high and 2 who queue normal - you probably end up in a high skill game where potentially the 2 normal players will just get shit on / have a very hard time playing a functional role where they aren't outclassed. I do feel that grouping with people better than you are is a faster track to improving, especially if you're open to feedback and advice. The biggest thing is recognize that everyone has games of dota where they want to literally kill someone so just don't take it personal if people rage occasionally. The worst that can happen is that you lose another game of dota, and if you aren't used to losing yet you probably won't stick with it.
