stupid question: how do i view the compendium? i bought it, and activated it, but i cant figure out how to look at the damn thing.

Its amazing how competitive this game is and it still hasnt officially been "released" yet.
With all the tourny's and pro players its kind of mind boggling. Valve must be happier than a pig in shit with this title, and it hasnt even got started yet (they still have what, 5-6 heroes left to put in?).

The game has been released for a while for all intents and purposes. It's not complete but it's been more or less at a release status since TI2. They just didn't officially say "Eh this is released" yet probably because they're Valve and they'd rather wait 2-3more years but when a F2P game has a store fully running and free/easy access(I think you still need keys but it takes like 30secs to find one), it's release status.
And they're missing about 10heroes.

Yeah. My point was they are still not finished developing the game and its already a huge hit. I didnt know there are still that many heroes missing I never played Dota 1. I can only think of 5 off the top of my head trying to remember dotafire's chart that are not in yet.
They added Tusk, Bristleback, Skywrath, and Elder Titan since I started playing (3 months?) So that looks like about 1 hero a month so yeah it wont be officially "done" for at least another 10 months if there are really that many left yet to do. I heard a lot of them are really close to done so maybe they will release them faster coming up. Abaddon looks awesome, also looking forward to Commander.

Legion commander *turned into a chick*, Abaddon, Phoenix, Pit lord *Abyssal underlord*, Ember spirit, Soul keeper*terrorblade*, Arc Warden , Winter Wyvern, and Techies. Commander and Abaddon should be in any time now. With pit lord up after.

Well Pit Lord isn't in -cm in dota1, so obviously he's not gonna be in -cm in dota2. Heroes in -cm that are not in dota2 yet: Terrorblade/Soul Keeper/Illidan/Waytoomanynamesdemonguy, Abaddon, Techies. That's it. LC and Xin haven't been added yet even though Shredder and Skywrath were(all 4 were added the same patch), Frostwyrm and Arc Warden are both the newest heroes so obviously not -cm yet and Phoenix and Pitlord were both remade heavily and haven't been readded to -cm since the remakes.
