God Nortrom is fun as hell to play with. Hearing TRIPLE KILL! using one of the more involved heroes to play is satisfying and is much more enjoyable than netting 20 kills with Viper or whatever. Its hilarious watching noobs just aimlessly run after getting Last Worded and CotS. Hearing that "bang!" after Word pops and then hearing the coin and subsequent death text gives me a boner.

Dude is almost unstoppable after you get Scythe and Orchid. You can basically silence 3 times and disable on top of that for shits and giggles. Once he starts getting up over 130 INT and has those items its goodnight.

I imagine anti-mage with an equal amount of farm would stop him pretty dead in his tracks.

Silencer can actually deal with AM, with an equal amount of farm. You're however almost never going to get an equal amount of farm as an AM, unless he's retarded or your team holds him down for a long time. 5secs blink(or whatever the cd is nowadays)+bfury=farm twice as fast as silencer. There's just no comparison. Assuming equal items and assuming teamfights(1vs1 I'd still put the AM winner with the right items), it would be pretty easy for silencer to drop the AM in seconds while he's stunned or whatever, due to his true damage orb that does a billion dmg. At the end of the day it's still reliant on teammates and relying on somehow keeping with an AM on farm which is near impossible, or at least getting fed 30ish kills for the int gains.

Silencer is definitely one of the more scary heroes once farmed though, it's just it's so rare he ever gets to do it, it really doesn't matter.

....

Scythe of Vyse - 5675
Orchids - 4125

BKB - 3900
Manta - 5050

With 900 less farm AM destroys Silencer and potentially allows him to one shot surrounding enemies.

I said 1vs1 I'd give AM winning. Game isn't 1vs1. Yes if AM can get on the silencer and do whatever he wants then silencer is going to die, but he has to deal with global silence affecting his team and whatever CC silencer's team can throw at him, especially stuff that goes through bkb which you would generally take if you have a silencer for that specific purpose. You can use blackhole or bane grip effectively when you have an on demand global silence for example. Also AM doesn't go bfury? I mean add a bfury, then add a ghost scepter for silencer, see how it works out, once bkb is off, AM is pretty much dead is he hasn't killed the silencer yet. AM is overall a better carry because he's gonna carry in most situations and farm faster. Full inventory silencer will tend to be the better carry because his damage is ridiculous, he's ranged, he has a global silence and he fucks certain heroes mana pool so much they can't use rank3 ults if they die too many times. You are however almost never going to get a full inventory silencer, while it's fairly easy to get a full inventory AM.

Well yes when you incorporate a shit ton of other variables the outcome will for sure be different ... That's kind of not the point, you said a Silencer can deal with an AM with equal farm, I put up that scenario and it's not even remotely close to being true.

A 1vs1 scenario. In a teamfight game. Your scenario also assumes the AM gets his BKB off first. If he gets sheeped first, he'll lose the fight by a large margin, he might not die because he can BKB or manta the orchid/global and just blink away once the sheep is off and doubt Silencer has the dmg output to drop him, but he won't win if he starts with 1/4 hp. At equal farm in endgame, I'd rather have a Silencer, he's just gonna do more. As I said however, you are almost never going to get a silencer endgame at equal farm with an AM, it's just so unlikely that AM is pretty much always a better pick for your carry. Also when I said equal farm I did mean lategame, like 45+mins. Otherwise you can compare "at equal farm" at level 2 or some shit, which AM probably wins with a stout shield and blink+mana break.

3rd mute already, 160 hours (roughly, didn't see it right away I'm sure) of silence which I don't mind.

I wonder what the mute tiers are like and how far they go.

That shit is really stupid. SInce my last ban I hardly if ever talk. People are actually silent reporting people who announce they are going to report someone for feeding, abuse etc. SO if you step up and announce to either REPORT HIM LOL or agree to report someone for whatever warranted infraction, chances are someone is going to ninja report you just for reporting someone yourself, regardless if its just.

Its getting more and more out of hand. I kind of dont mind silence either, and whats hilarious is that what got me to play SIlencer. My buddy who plays hates on me for getting an Orchid (I usually dont ever got the time/farm to get a Scythe) and says "lol, lets build ANOTHER silence item on SILENCER LOLOL PRO MOVE BRO!". But what he doesnt understand, is adding that 3rd silence gives him a far range, instant cast single target silence for 5 seconds with a short cd. Now, a lot of noobs dont realize that Last Word is actually worse if you let the timer go off. They just run away or aimlessly move around out of range until it pops, which promptly damages them for 300 damage (when maxed) and DISARMS them in addition to a silence. If they just cast a spell right away it causes an instant 5 sec silence and no damage or disarm. So when they get spooked by Word, I ALWAYS land CotS with its huge aoe and range and that ends up being 700 damage and 200 mana burned with a silence and disarm for 5 seconds thereafter. You add in an orchid and now its slightly unfair against any 1v1 situation, and if you ever got a Sycthe that would be instagib, with a potential to silence for 15 seconds if times perfectly, with an additional 5 sec disable. Unless like Pyros said he pops BKB first or is running around with Manta Illusions with a BF, then yeah ANti-Mage probably owns him, or at worse blinks away. But if he gets global silenced or Orchid right off the back, then cursed and worded soon after that, your glaives (if your INT is at least 150) is gonna hit for like 115-120 PURE damage on top of the glaive auto attack dmg. He will get owned and owned hard.

Either way this discussion is largely subjective with too many variables and what ifs. The point is Silencer wins 69.87 percent of his games with Orchid. Thats a good clip and shows its truly a game changer for not only him but his whole team. Being able to Orchid instead of burning a global is huuuuuuge.

Yeah Last Word always does damage. If you wait it out, you get disarmed on top of silenced, if you cast you get silenced but not disarmed but your spell is on cooldown and you have less mana. So depending on your hero, not casting is fine sometimes, especially if you're getting cursed after the silence and are losing mana, as you'll want to keep mana to actually use your spells to crush silencer before the next last word. That is unless you have a low cost spell you can pop like chain lightning or whatever then it's fine, and obviously if you can cast a spell at silencer that's also good.

Btw yesterday in EG vs Liquid, Liquid picked Slark and raped Batrider 1vs1 with it, pretty interesting counter pick. Can remove napalm, can remove lasso, can keep bat in place even with firefly, high burst dmg to drop him quickly and after 6 can regen any harass fairly quickly.

Yea I've seen Slark picked up a couple games now. Very interesting. I've been getting raped by him in soloq but that's always been the case.

Buddy told me Visage is pretty high pick over east, would like to see more of him. So strong in aggressive trilanes.

He was picked twice yesterday in Rattlesnake vs Zenith, won both games. First game he was the farmer in the trilane, he had a 16mins aghanim or some shit, second game wasn't as impactful he was support and they locked him down well but he did get a couple of kills for the trilane by casting soul assumption before dying. Rattlesnake also ran mid alchemist with no goblin's greed(well not before maxing the other 2 spells), meka first. Was very efficient, strong ganking, converts into good carry later on.
