Well, it's 1st April so they might have gone full meta. The article before that was real, because there was no way they could make it funnier by adding stuff to it.

Yeah, that was insane. Liquid had it in the bag until Tinker bought back with like 10s left, resetting his buyback timer, because he was afraid of losing the last lane of rax. If they had held on, he'd be able to insta buyback when they pushed at the end.

Just saw RTZ take off his tranquils while farming a stack in the jungle and then put them on when he was done so they wouldn't be on cool down. never saw or heard of that one.

Been done quite a few times already, other day it was a centaur mid dropping them between last hits on lane creeps, forgot which teams. It's definitely more efficient, at the same time if some guy picked an invis rune and runs into you, you lose 1k gold. Or if it's warded and some guy blinks into you. Few ways for it to be fucked up really. But it's like how Dendi will often drop his stat items before he uses arcane/wands/bottle even in pro games to maximize regen from them.

As an avid bounty hunter, I've collected more than my fair share of boots. From stupid shit like that same goes for energy/life boosters and the odd eagle horn / hyperstone.

Random tangent. If you're roshing don't drop an itembworth more than your boots for aegis/cheese if you're doing rosh without true sight. Chances are I'm walking away with the item, an aegis deny, and the courier thst was coming for your item. Mostly desos and daeds, but its funny walking off with an alchs abyssal or a tink/furion mystic staff/vyse.

I've never seen somebody so stupid as to drop that kind of stuff for an aegis

Interesting situation in the final games for the Starladder qualifications for Kiev. Na'Vi rescheduled a bunch of games so they were supposed to play three qualifiers in a row today. Because it's the last couple days of qualifying, most teams know they can't qualify, and 2 of the 3 opponents forfeit vs Na'Vi. Alliance finished all their games a while ago, and they will get bumped to 5th place (not qualifying) if a couple more games go against them tomorrow. As more money gets involved, I wonder if tournaments will start cracking down on game times so situations like this can't happen? Kind of silly imo that Alliance played all their games, and actually lost to Relax (I think?) in a huge upset, and that is probably going to cost them their spot. Meanwhile, Na'Vi got two free wins because the teams didn't want to bother playing after they were eliminated. In all likelihood, Na'Vi wins these games anyways, but all it takes is one upset for them to lose their spot. I don't care strongly either way, but it strikes me as pretty unfair. Obviously, Dota has a long way to go before it can be taken seriously, but situations like this don't help. Imagine if any other sport's tournament was played in this manner.

Starladder has been quick to try and improve what they do, I'm quite certain there hasn't been a mass reschedule like what Na'VI had this season, and I doubt they foresaw this problem when allowing it. I'd be surprised if the next season for example rescheduling games will have a different rules to prevent situations where playing late in the season leads to walkovers for playoff contending teams. You could have flex scheduling at the mid season or just in general use last starladder's rankings as a seed system so that you guarantee that the last games navi plays are against alliance, c9, empire etc. Or make sure that each team schedule contains a bottom 8 / top 8 team to help prevent these mass walkover situations. Schedule makers I'm sure have dealt with this problem before in round robin play, and there is nothing that stops Starladder from disqualifying teams who do not play their matches or don't try to win.

In all competitions the most important aspect is the integrity of the event itself. I think judgement should really come from how they handle this going forward if this is an actual controversy of some merit, if it was an accident or otherwise this is is the same kind of issue as intentional tanking in the NBA for draft position by teams at the bottom of the standings.

Depends on if Dota2 really wants to be an esport (which it isn't) or stay as an exhibition/entertainment event (which it is).
