I didn't know the south american players invading us servers was such a problem...

no one spoke english except qop
the TA was trying to safelane carry (that was his farm vs solo bs where we firstblooded and I left to jungle), he'd just charge in 2v1 vs jakiro and ember thinking he can win somehow

the struggle is real

That's why I don't queue on US east anymore, Peruvians get better ping on US east than SA because of shitty routing.

Servers for JUST THEM to play on would be an awesome compendium reward goal instead of pretty much anything else on there.

Techies of course would be another awesome reward.

EU West and Russians is just as bad. It's really detrimental to DOTA imo.

Low Priority games can actually be more rewarding than regular queue, because you get put with people that admittedly flame and abuse, but at least they do it in English

One really has to question the sanity of whoever decided the WPC playoff groups -WPC 2014 Playoffs - Liquipedia Dota 2 WikiLets put all the strong teams in one!

All the EU qualifier games I've seen are super shitty.
Those groups are on purpose. No team gets knocked out of the tournament in the group stage. The intent here is to set 1-8 seeding by allowing the regional champions to fight. The winner of group A gets to play the shittiest team in group b I.E 1vs8 / 2vs7 / 3v6 / 4v5. Think of it this way. Group A is setting seeds 1-4 and Group B is setting seeds 5-8. This setup prevents the top teams from hitting each other in the first round of bracket play.

Anyone saw the DK vs IG in Mars TV tiebreakers ? DK went full oldschool with Tiny mid who went full gank and Burning AM.

One does not simply kill Burning AM. It was beautiful.

I saw the draft and had to leave shortly after firstblood, given the lineups I had no idea how they'd stop burning once the trilane went 1 for 2.\

That mars tv group stage is on its final game its been running for 17 hours. That's some hardcore fucking dota for 6 teams to play an absolute shitload of games.

That isn't the typical way to do things.... usually one has 1,3,5,7 in one and 2,4,6,8 in the other. When you place closely ranked teams together you increase the likelihood of an upset.

I think that's the point, to generate interesting games outside playoffs. The games don't really matter, so teams can try something more creative.

I'm not certain you understand the purpose of the group stage really. All 8 of these teams played a very long regular season - especially the Chinese teams. The top 6 Chinese advanced to the playoffs along with the top 2 from the western qualifier. Those teams are only seeded relative to the competition they played. In the east the order was VG/Newbee/DK followed by Titan/IG/DT - with the west being C9/Alliance in order. So now you have 8 teams? Where do you seed C9/Alliance? Do you give them the 7/8 seeds? Cause they are western? Do you outright give C9 the Number 1 seed? do you give C9 the 4th seed because they aren't Chinese? They need to establish an actual 1-8 without invalidating the group stages prior to the bracket playoffs.

I think their solution is extremely clever, because you're saying they should be divided 1/3/5/7 but who is 1/3/5/7 All we know is that C9 is #1 West, Alliance #2 West, VG #1 Newbee #2, DK #3... you get the point? who's 7 and 8? This setup gives the top 3 seeds in china and c9 the benefit of their strong group stage performance by guaranteeing that they will play either the second place western team, or one of the 4-6 Chinese qualifiers in round one of the bracket.

I think you should look at the entire tournament - it didn't start with this group stage. The games do matter contrary to zaphid's post the teams that go #1/#2 in group A cannot play eachother until the grandfinals. There is no losers bracket.
