I agree that Sheever is awful, and it grosses me out when I see the virgins in twitch chat fawning over her. She looks like a fucking lumberjack. That's not to say everyone else on that panel was good. It was essentially Draskyl and 3 shitties. I don't even know who the neckbeard or the blonde autistic kid are.

I watched a couple of starladder seasons on Sheever's stream as I prefer her casting to most of the bts guys. She's no Tobi or Draskyll, but she is not bad.

I was hoping MVP would go through, just to see a korean team do well. If more koreans switch to dota then maybe more starcraft players will have a chance in wcs.

Ya, I wanted MVP to win primarily because of the chance of getting more people from that market involved in the game.

Haha sorry for the Sheever derail I guess I started. I just cant stand her bad English because it's like she can't keep up with the action in teamfights because it takes her forever sometimes to get thoughts out (usually way after somethings happened) and I don't think she says anything really insightful....but then again other than Draskyl those other goons on the panel don't really offer anything either.

As long as she's not casting its fine tho :p

Anyways, I really wish Dota would take off in Korea to help grow the game even more into that huge market (and they embrace esports like nowhere else) so I was kind of hoping MVP would go on just for that. If anything though, the massive prize pool of the international has to be enticing for pro players in other games who are Korean to make the switch.

Well korea is a lot into LoL and while TI pays a lot, they probably get much better money from playing LoL competitively simply because of the way the whole thing is designed with the salaries and the weekly LANs and shit. It's sad they're not gonna get more exposition though. Also sad that they get 0$ even though they did manage to get #2 in the SEA qualifiers, I mean sure it's not like the greatest achievement but even winning small internet shitty tournaments tend to get you like 500bucks or whatever. I guess they got a free trip to the US and a 2weeks vacation, so that's something. They didn't look bad either, unlike fucking CIS and VP, but they were clearly outclassed by Liquid.

all those "panel" discussions were just pure shit. none of those people should be in front of a mic, let alone a camera. the only commentator that has any sort of talent is the tobi one but the downside is his voice is pretty annoying.

I really don't know how I feel about Korea getting interested in dota, I'd rather not have them dominate the scene like they do in every other esports they care about.

Well, if Korea becomes a real danger, I'm sure China will donate a few working nukes to Kim somehow. Those guys take their doto seriously

I don't like Sheever as a caster, and I actively avoid watching any cast she's commentating on.

That being said, to say she doesn't deserve to be there is asinine. She does a lot of good for the community, she works great as a panelist, and with makeup on, I wouldn't kick her out of bed.

Just don't give her any important games to cast.

So tired of seeing tinker every game
Says everyone who spectates high level MMR games (talking about the pub games at night.)

Now bearing in mind I've only played DOTA a year and I'm no expert:

Everyone says "but but, counter pick him!" But people DO counter pick him. We're talking the 5k+ mmr games here, I have to assume they know what they're doing. And it seems like every game I click on has a Tinker that's 25 and 4.

Because you need a specific set of heroes to counter him, most of which are usually played mid and that's the most contested lane as in who gets to play it and most Dooms are happy to have 10 minute naked midas because of jungling and never buy blink. It's like radiance Naga, the counter is much harder to execute than the move.

Best way to fuck him is to just tell everyone to buy blademail and run into stacked march.

Don't those solutions point to a greater problem with Tinker?

So, to counter Tinker, you need:

Very specific heroes, or he'll fuck you. Ergo, any team that goes up against Tinker MUST strictly choose certain heroes or the game will likely be lost. That's lame. Oh, Tinker didn't pick until 15 seconds after the buzzer started and you didn't get the right heroes? Sucks to be you. I know picking and counterpicking is a big part of this game, but there are a lot of heroes, not being a "hard counter" who can still do OKAY against another specific hero.

Then your second solution, a hero, in this case Tinker, forces the ENTIRE TEAM to buy a specific item, blademail, then magically be somewhere Tinker is about to drop marches. That's great in theory, and yeah, we've seen the videos of it, but it's still not a practical solution.

It just seems like there's a problem. But again, I'm relatively new to this game, so what do I know.

Wish the first set of games was more spread out. Alliance vs IG, DK vs Fnatic, or EG vs C9. Then the second set is kinda crappy.
