This was surprisingly good. I don’t know that being familiar with DotA names has any significant impact on being able to enjoy the show. Good pacing, good character arcs, good writing overall. I can’t wait for season 2.

Those polyamorus degenerates elves got what they deserved, Luna did nothing wrong. Overall I liked it, though would have liked to see them flesh out what's going on with worshiping mommy dearest.

Also Wtf is up with the nose on everyone? That shadow or highlight just looks weird.

I've never played a single second of DOTA or watched any of it but watched this and enjoyed it. It reminds me a lot of D&D with a bit of Warcraft, especially the whole "dragons are infinity stones" kinda thing. I didn't really follow the lore and don't quite understand the motives of the main demon, the dragons, the Moon Goddess, etc but it wasn't super hard to follow along and just enjoy as a standalone series.

I don’t know that any of this lore is fleshed out in game, or at least it wasn’t the last time I played several years ago.

There are snipets of lore. Siractionslacks has a lot of lore videos on Youtube, which are a combination of actual info from the games and associated media and his own theories

yeah. surprisingly good. Very comparable to Castlevania. I'd even guess the same writers? although differant animation studio.
same almost out of place forced swearing, piss obsession's. Same out of place gratuitous but not actually pornagraphic random sex scenes.

also, have no idea what Dota's "lore" is.

Apparently Tyrande is not an elf in dota.

I'd think Valve would have to change a lot of things when DOTA went commercial. Kind of like when Counter-Strike went commercial all those years ago they gave all the guns fictional names. I played DOTA a long time ago with my WoW guildmates but remember fuckall about it however I do play Underlords pretty regularly on my iPad when I'm bored. I'd assume Terrorblade is the character that used Illidan's model in WC3.


Edit: Huh, looks like CS:GO actually uses the real gun names but CZ and Source did not. Never played GO so I'm still right!

Pretty much exactly how I felt about it. Really glad I watched it, and looking forward to more.

Also, I have no idea what the lore is supposed to be, but I don't really care.

Never played DOTA and didn’t know any characters, lore, etc. and enjoyed it. Was easy enough to follow. Will watch the next season too.

Someone suggested this when I asked about any Netflix stuff that wasn't woke SJW garbage. Like many have already said in this thread I didn't know much of the lore going into this and have pretty low expectations but it was really good. Solid animation, decent world building, interesting story. 8/10 would binge watch this shit again and look forward to the next season.

Also not sure why Celery Mayonnaise is such a bitch.
