Hodj, I'm already registered on the other board. I'm already posting there. You are doing way more harm then good if your goal is to actually keep the community together. Shut the god damned fuck up, you do not possess the cognitive ability to understand the discussion happening here.
You did not address any of the actual concerns or points brought up by the majority of people in this thread. You have simply shitposted angry bullshit.

I have nothing against a_skeleton_03. I've talked to him in PMs a handful of times, and he's always been cool with me. I honestly have missed all the 'shitposting' he seems to do, because I don't frequent those threads. In the threads we converge in, he's always been level headed and reasonable, to me anyway. I think we'd get along irl pretty well, for example. I trust him to run the new forums well and am excited for that.
The point most of us, such as Thengel, are trying to make is there was a BETTER way to handle this.
Everyone keeps saying that craig is gonna flip his shit about SS, the porn, etc.. when they specifically said they don't care. They said they'd change this site if traffic drops to PRACTICALLY NOTHING. i.e. if none of us are here anymore, so we wouldn't even care. If even 20% of the userbase were still here, they wouldn't change it. Why the fuck everyone takes that statement as 'see? they are gonna boot us all out if we stay!' is so fucking stupid, I just can't understand how you got to that point. So many morons making claims that have no basis in reality then telling the rest of us WE are delusional is so fucking LOL.
What will probably happen now, is about 70% of the userbase will move over and continue on as if nothing happened. We will lose some of our historic and amazing threads that are enshrined here. We will lose a portion of the lurkers and occasional posters who don't keep up with the daily drama. If you think that's the ideal scenario, then there's no point talking to you. You have a reality in your head that this doesn't fit with, so you'll reject it completely.
My point, and others who have agreed with me, is that there was a way to do this that might have kept 100% of the userbase together and all of the history. Instead, you played chicken little and convinced a large enough portion that you were right and now there's no going back. That is, unless we manage to get ahold of this forum's data and accounts in some way, which I'm still hoping for.

I agree with your points. Hodj's point was that even if Craig was content to let this place run as is for now, the fact that we aren't in control of our own forums is the underlying issue. Granted, with Draegan owning the forums, we never did control them. But at least he was one of us. I think that was their main point of contention. If I am wrong, believe me Hodj will set you straight in 5 consecutive posts.
The community is what it is with all of our flaws. I would welcome Draegan even.
If there are enough complaints about legitimate concerns he will be dealt with. We actually have some very interesting tools for that over there.

The list of most complaints are
1. We are afraid the community will split. This has already been refuted outright by the flood of people heading to the new site. The only way this happens even fractionally is because people get all butthurt over not getting the bullshit narrative they've built up in their head exactly the way they wanted it because the world isn't perfect, and therefore stay here. And those people would just be generating a self fulfilling prophecy easily avoided by stopping being obstinate and moving to the new site. Further, taking the chance of waiting was far riskier in terms of community cohesion. Moving as quickly as we did and as enthusiastically for the most part actually mitigates this happening to the absolute greatest extent possible.
2. We are going to lose "history". First of all, they are trying to accomodate this. In fact, now that Draegan is out of the picture, there is a small chance (get this) that we might even get the database from FOH to merge into the new site as well. The absolute worst case scenario is we lose the forum threads here. That would suck, but most people have already let that go anyway. Its actually not that big a deal.
3. Somehow a_skeleton_03 is going to screw the community over. He's worked his ass off for several days doing his best to prove you wrong. Give the guy a chance. It can't be worse than it already is.

right, and I understand that concern. I just don't see how that matters at all though under what we were suggesting.
Worst case scenario we spread word about the backup site and wait to see what happens (like.. even just a week, not months). IF they fuck with us somehow, in the slightest way, everyone would automatically move over regardless and we'd all be united in wanting to do that. We'd lose less people then how it went down.
Best case scenario, they end up letting a_skeleton_03 take over THIS site and improve it in exactly the same way as the new one, but with a better domain name, all the same accounts, all the same threads, no loss of userbase, etc..

Worst case scenario is that Craig McGregor is fucking lying through his teeth, and they were already planning to shutter this place and redirect to their own forums, or he was planning on merging these forums with their forums, peddling products to us, and was able to shut down dissent, ban anyone pushing for a move elsewhere, start word filtering and link filtering links to the new site in an attempt to make money off this community.
We have no reason not to presume that is the case, considering the month long silence on even the purchase and transfer of the site.
They can keep things that silent for that long, they can keep their plans for the future of this site silent for that long or longer.
