He would've been a perfect Kano, but I don't see him as Cage at all. I think Ryan Reynolds or Ryan Gosling would make a perfect Cage.

Indeed.

They should have just said they were saving Johnny Cage for the sequel but instead they tried to score some points off of the Floyd Craze at the time, and it was pretty off-putting for a lot of people.

I think I could handle another chapter if well done. I look at Spartacus (starz) and I can see it working if done right. That said, no one will come close to Russell Crowes performance

I'll do you one better: could it happen? At least as a proper sequel to this movie.
An authority figure wielding its power fairly, but harshly and seemingly taking pleasure in doing so in current time?
Killing druggies and rioters and what not? That's not going to fly.

This very movie today would probably be considered controversial.
Maybe its for the best if it doesn't happen, at least for now.
