Why would the pacing be shit? This first movie is supposed to be half of the first book.
Dune is a very long and complex book. Even if they are splitting it into two pacing is going to be a challenge. I still remember going to the david lynch version they had glossary hand outs for people going to see it. As much as I want this to be good the subject matter is not an easy one to pull off well. I think the david lynch version did a reasonable job with the story and had a great cast. Still this one seems to be getting a strong cast as well so we shall see.
They won't be in this movie. Also, weirding modules are awesome! No one knows what they really are, and the name itself causes most people to roll their eyes, but they have a place in my heart as they were the key to beating the Sega Cd version of the game.
Josh Brolin is fucking awesome, lately. Happy to see this.Josh Brolin Joins Timothee Chalamet in All-Star 'Dune'
There is your Gurney Halleck, this cast rules

I wonder how Villanuavue (sp?) will handle the fremen shit, and the scenes in the desert. Heres hoping the chrys knife ends up being featured and is awesome.
weirding modules
Hot take: the weirding modules are more interesting and sound (pun!) a lot less stupid than the weirding way.
Director David Lynch's decision to use modules was taken because he found the idea of the Weirding Way unworkable on film, stating he did not want to see "Kung-fu on sand dunes".
No. Bad.Hot take: the weirding modules are more interesting and sound (pun!) a lot less stupid than the weirding way.
The weirding way is from the novel, the weirding module is Lynch's brain on mushrooms and elephantiasis.
