I love that I get HBO Max for free. ATT Fiber is the shizsmart play by Warner, by putting out a different movie every month (that disappears from the service for 6+ months) you get people to sub and stay subbed. Theaters are still fucked though, but at least they get a small number of people who will come out after day 30 when its nowhere.
Pirates win, get everything for free on day 1 in 4K HDR ATMOS.

You obviously has a bad steak. The HIGH end restaurant I go to, just the wife and i, 1 bottle of wine, 200 dollars. 2 steaks - SHE gets filet, I get ribeye (or lamb depending on my mood) a salad for her onion soup me, onion strings and another side.
Pathetic thing is, I can do filet/steak almost as good as this restaurant, bearnaise sauce etc....for a quarter of the price, WITH the same wine we get at the restaurant(55 dollar at restaurant, 23 bucks store a mile away). We go for the experience. 55 bucks for the filet at restaurant, ~15 bucks same size at the restaurant butchery a half mile away, I just have ro season and cook it... light sprinkle Kosher salt, bit of pepper and garlic powder, let rest 30 minutes and then grill, OR sous vide at 130 for an hr, then brown the outside either with cast iron skillet or the butane torch...bearnaise sauce takes 5 minutes..
Chop up 1tsp fresh parsley
1tsp fresh tarragon
Melt in microwave 1/4 cup butter (Kerrygold or other high fat butter preferred)
1 egg yolk-whisked
1tblsp champagne vinegar
2 tblsp heavy cream
Pinch mustard powder
Pinch cayenne pepper
Add all ingredients in microwave safe bowl, whisk together, microwave on high 30 sec. Whisk, repeat until sauce consistancy.

Well, I've been waiting for this for years now--took a Pandemic to finally make them bite the bullet. But good riddance. The only reason theaters existed at all in the first place, after all, was because you needed to physically lug data around in massive reels and that shit was hard--so you had to get a bunch of people together to see it. That hasn't been the case in decades, the only reason theaters have survived is due to tradition but that's not enough.
Any modern theaters that haven't noticed that, deserve to die. The theater industry needs to become an event night that is worthwhile outside the movie. We're already seeing this with Dinner+Movie places, that's going to be the future of the theater experience.

While I agree with you Lith about the streaming , theaters, especially the modern ones are still and event that you cannot duplicate that easily at home without tens of thousands of electronic and sound equipment. And even if you can set up a home movie theater in the basement or some shit, it still does not match the big huge IMAX screens and sound systems in modern movie theaters.

Yeah I'll gladly pay the fee to support this movie. I'd also gladly pay $30 on top of the monthly sub for this particular movie to watch from home if the theater experience isn't fully back up and running yet (though hopefully it will be.)
