looks interesting. Love the dune universe so I will probably give it the college try.

Guy who was streaming it was pretty thrilled. Some random I talked to.

It's got some civ elements in the RTS setting but isn't exactly either. Kinda kew, I'd give it a shot.

Not sure if House Ordos made the cut but I loved them and especially their music in Dune 2. Yes I'm aware of the backstory between that faction being added, it's music etc and it's a good one.

I'll try it eventually cuz Dune and strategy.
Also loved Dune 2 and was looking for House Ordos, but unfortunately, they are not in this game atm.

Really fucking stoked for this. I'm hoping they add multiplayer support soon.

Bought it and played it some over the weekend.

I would recommend it if you liked Northgard. That being said it plays somewhat different from Northgard.

There is more combat; your population is not part time farmer and part time warrior. You can raid and harass nearly from the get go if you stay out of deep desert. It feels grander; maps are bigger. Everything is a little more abstract; you aren’t dealing with food and wood but space money, space stock market and “authority” which you use to conquer new towns.

Yet for the most part it feels like Dune. My biggest gripe is the Fremen feel the same as the Atreides and Harkonnens; another noble house of the empire but they’re tan colored.

I wish this would have just been an updated version of the 1992 Dune game. At first glance, it looked like it was but from what is being posted, I am guessing it is not. Hard to believe that that game is 30 years old.

People wanted that fairly unanimously, reviews are very mixed

I played a small map on easy and started medium/medium. It feels like a less fleshed out Northgard. Very simple so far. Very few meaningful mechanics it seems.
Disappointed.

Watched a bunch of videos and while everyone more or less plays within the same framework/mechanics, there are significant differences between each faction; each faction has unique mechanics as well. There are a lot of currencies being generated and being spent. There is combat but more prevalent for some factions than others (more for Freman and Harkonnen, less for Atreides and Smugglers, just as you would expect. AI raids a lot until you make friends with them or conquer them. Landsraad etc an important part of the game.
