I don't do audio books. Just not my thing. Paper and imagination. I read a lot faster than anyone could ever speak.

Kindle Plus 30 day trial, ebook versions. I'm a third of the way through book 7, I couldn't stop at book 3 waiting on 4's hardcover to come in, too much dungeon crawling to do.

Already finished number 2 and went straight into 3. I don't want to spoil myself but I'd really like to know if he has a plan for the number of books in the series and how close he is to finishing. I saw at the end of book 2 that he said book 3 was already finished...that is some crazy writing. I hope he is keeping up the pace.

I am supremely impressed with his planning, I'm not sure how he managed it. I'd assume he's working on book 8, and my own hope is he doesn't do something weird and "end" it before he at least somewhat explores the lowest dungeon levels. There's some epilogue content somewhere that implies this will be the case, that he will explore all the way down to 18.

His pace has been ungodly too, he began this in late 2020, I think book 1 was published in 2021. 2 books a year of this quality and length is goddamn impressive.

It will slow down eventually. See Jim Butcher and Brandon Sanderson. I would definitely like to see Carl beat level 18 though.

It has 7 books. Not sure if that is all there will be.
There are more coming.

In theory (if I remember right), the Dungeon has 18 floors, although no one ever makes it to the end. They do one or maybe two floors per book (although one was pretty hilarious how they cheesed it). There's been enough teasing for floor 12 that they probably make it there, then sow chaos. I mean, even more chaos than before. That's probably book 9.

Yeah floor 12 has to happen given how much the story has been leading up to the celestial ascension. Floor 15 is Sheol, and we haven’t had too much insight into that yet

Well, he has a quest to help one demon lord kill his 3 brothers, so he can satisfy his insane liege deity...

Went ahead and ordered 4-7. Looks like 7 was just released in November, so probably more to come. I have a lot of other books from the past couple years to read while I wait for 4-6 to release.

Finished book 7.

Book 5 is my favorite, and I think book 7 is the runner up. They're all great, though. The fact that 5 and 7 are my favorites bodes well for the series, usually shit goes down hill fast, especially in Modern Day.

Nice, I'm trying to patiently wait for books 4-7 to release hardcover. Already preordered them from Amazon, something I have literally never done before.

Yeah same, I have 4-7 on preorder but I couldn't wait, so did a month of Kindle Unlimited (free trial). I think I chose wisely!

I just finished 5 a few minutes ago. Just a great series so far.

I have a big stack of books from the past 20 years to get around to. And some old ones that haven't been reread in a long while. I can be happily entertained while I wait. Book 4 coming 3/13.

I'm enjoying book 7 now on audio. It's exploring one of my favorite gaming genres,
mass MMO PvP.

I enjoy audio books because I can enjoy them when I'm not in a position to read. Ex: driving, mowing the lawn or other chores, at the park watching my kids, etc.

I like music for those scenarios. Except watching your kids.

Jeff Hayes does a really good job. If there was any series I'd highly recommend as an audio book this is it.

This is my favorite series still being written. It is so very very good. I got five people to check this out and all five loved it, including my wife who is not into this shit. She is demanding I find her a Mongo plushie. The audio books elevate the whole experience up a level. Jeff Hays is the narrator and insanely talented. He is probably my favorite VA and does male and female voices exceptionally well. I have long commutes to and from work so without trying I can polish off a 28 hour audio book in about three weeks. I have done some in a weekend. Such an excellent series.

If you ever find a Mongo plushie, let us know.

For our wives/girlfriends, of course. That would be super weird if we wanted one. Super weird.
