Never beat Godskin Noble and haven't gotten back to playing in the past week or so. That big bastard had my number (after flying through everything up to that point). Still don't have a concrete build ironed-out, waffling between 2x Great Stars and Blasphemous Blade, might try Faith, I dunno...

What's a good build for the DLC specifically, since the DLC is the whole point of this third run at the game? Is Faith even particularly strong there?

25 fth for golden vow is all you really need. Blasphemous blade doesn't get a lot of scaling from it. Golden vow, flame grant me strength, a couple fire trinkets and the fire cracked tear. You should be doing like 4,000 per shot spamming takers flames, healing yourself at the same time. It got me through most of the expansion even after the nerf to poise dmg.

Although I did flirt with the uzi spear a few times. Like on Bayle who is fire resistant.

Real men don't even install Elden Ring at all, too busy slaying pussy and adding to their harem.

Never tried Golden Vow before. It's that potent eh? 25 Faith, noted. It's still at 10, haven't started leveling it yet and I think I need 21 to even use Blasphemous Blade. Need to find a respec tear and drop about 20 points from Dex. Given the limited number of respecs and my relatively low level (plus the BB getting some attack power from Dex) I also might just leave it alone and grind out the Faith.

Bayle and Radahn were the two DLC bosses that absolutely whooped my ass in NG++. I think I beat most of the others. I never got to Radahn's second form and I could barely even get out of the doorway on Bayle. Seriously. Bayle makes every other Souls dragon look like a joke. I never beat Midir or Gael in Dark Souls 3 either so I'm in a similar boat there where I have to replay the game at some point just to finish clearing the last few DLC bosses.

Got 2x Great Stars that I can already use, plus Blasphemous Blade that I can't use yet due to stat requirements. I kinda like the look of the GSes a lot more than the creepy as hell Blasphemous. Think I might go with 2x GS build rather than a Taker's Flames build, but I'm like 50/50 between the two right now. Gonna need to up my Faith either way for Golden Vow, so I should be able to use either of them soon enough.

Golden Vow seems to be worth using with either build. What about Flame Grant Me Strength, does that stack with GV? I imagine it's really good with Blasphemous since it doubles up with the fire boost. If they stack, I can do GV + FGMS and do jumping powerstance attacks with the two Great Stars and see how much that thrashes things. Got both at +14 and basically at the mercy of smithing stone drops now.

Also have Blessing's Boon, that particularly worth using? Figuring out how many points I need to put into Mind.

I can't remember all the stacks but bloodflame blade I think can add too. Though the more time you spend buffing the less time you have to attack with the buffs active. You can also play around with whetstones. Flaming vs heavy or whatever. See how the dmg translates to different trash mobs.

Yeah that's why I'm wondering if Blessing's Boon is worth using, it's extra buffing time. Looks like it's only a defensive buff so I probably won't actually use it. Well, more Mind can't hurt in any case. I put Lion's Claw on both Great Stars and used my one tear to respec my extra 23 points of Dex into Str/Mind/Faith instead, now I can buff with FGMS and then do some damage. 10 more Fth and I'll be able to add Golden Vow onto that, should be pretty sick. After that I'll just pile up Vigor and Str. If I start feeling too OP I'll just remember how much the DLC kicked my ass before.

No sense putting lions claw on both. Put the healing ash on one. Prayerful strike, so you can swap in combat. And start with smite on main hand when you summon mimic. He'll be immortal. Although you can rofl stomp low poise stuff with lions claw mimic. Like poor Renalla!

What's a good goal to shoot for for Vigor and Str? IIRC I had 99 Vigor in my main game. Never really did Str before, only Dex. Powerstancing so two-handed isn't a factor here.

Level 65 here and I've got my stats planned out for level 100ish:

50 Vigor
20 Mind
10 End
50 Str
12 Dex
10 Int
25 Faith
10 Arcane

Which leaves me probably another 50-100 points to play around with by the time I'm done with everything. Going to look into customizing the Great Stars a bit as well, maybe have one inflict Frostbite and one inflict Poison on top of the Bleed that they already do. That said I might just keep them both in Heavy (Str).

Lion's Claw L2 is literally Guts' signature attack from Berserk which is pretty awesome, cuts into MP a lot though and only does about 10% more damage than a jumping L1 with the Claw Talisman equipped.

What is smite, that makes mimic immortal?

Don't think I have a healing ash / prayerful strike yet on this file, it's easy enough to get so I may as well go nab it. Really inclined to keep both Great Stars in full Str-based Heavy type, though, getting good results with this for now.

How are Frostbite and Bleed in the DLC? I'm guessing not the win button they are in the main game.

Also, had to fiddle with the cosmetic respec for like an hour but I finally managed to make a cute woman in Elden Ring. It isn't the easiest thing to do.

i think most of the main stats that effect your damage output have a soft cap of around 80 before the benefits taper off significantly.
I think Vigor/Mind/Stam soft cap at something lower like 60 or 70ish

Got Prayerful Strike. If I were to put that on my offhand Great Stars, is there any way to switch between and use the two ash L2 attacks on the fly without going to my inventory and switching the places of the two weapons every time I want to use the other one?

Yes there should be a way to 2-hand your offhand weapon and immediately use the ash. Might even be able to program a 1 button macro.

You can two hand the offhand same way as the main just using L1 or what ever Instead.

Yeah that works, triangle plus R1/R2 is mainhand and L1/L2 is offhand. Takes a couple presses but I can switch between them.

Re-upped PSN for the first time in a while so I could backup save before experimenting with the one re-spec I had, now I've got messages popping up everywhere. No summon signs to be found though (at least when I check for them with the Remedy), which is depressing. Even using the Small Golden Effigy to try and get summoned (near+far) doesn't seem to result in any summons. Man, last time I played this, I could leave that on and get summoned every few minutes to help somebody else with a boss. Farmed like 50 Rune Arcs or something doing that.

Going from the depressing to the annoying, anyone notice how every single remotely sus-looking wall has a message in front of it (sometimes multiple) saying it's a fake wall? And 95% of the time it's a normal wall? Why do people do that? At this point I don't even read them, I just strike the wall as I run by, expecting nothing, and wondering why people felt the need to plant 1-3 messages in front of said wall. The funniest part is how occasionally I find an actual fake wall that'll have zero messages in front of it. Do some walls require a bunch of strikes to open (or inspection or whatnot) or are all these people leaving fake wall messages just retards?

You can just roll or ride torrent through fake walls. No need to swing weapons. Rolling or torrent are much faster. Especially for the crypts.

Great Stars is one of the best weapons in the game so enjoy.
