PS- Just looked at your stats closer and yeah five poise is going to get you rag dolled constantly that fight, though most of his shit is dodgeable. The other issue I see is the baseline endurance, which means even with fingerprint you can't block counter for very long without being staggered. Assuming you are sticking to that general statline, your best bet is probably to summon poop man and L2 him to death with the lightning spear. Bayle has old style EQ agro where he tends to attack the closest enemy to him, so with the right tanky summons you can pretty much blast away with impunity from a distance. When he takes to the air or makes a big jump, you need to sprint away and let the geezer or your summon regain agro. Hope that helps.

Im a level 100, still on my first playthrough in Altus Plateau and Im constantly fighting for my life. Does my setup suck (going for unga bunga because i read it was an easier build for newbs) or do I need more of git gud?

I do the basic R1/R2 attacks, sometimes with a jump attack. I dont know shit about parrying and Im basically naked all the time to keep the weight down for rolls. Please give me your top 3 git gud tips

I'd say up your endurance and vigor stats asap. 11 endurance with a colossal is low, try and get to 24-30 if you can. This will let you equip more armor as well so you don't take as much damage.

Your talismans aren't super helpful. The first one you have equipped is mostly for fast attacking weapons. Your second talisman is pretty situational. I don't know what other talismans you have found but almost any thing else would be more useful.

I'd also just make your weapon heavy infused over cold. Cold makes a weapon split between physical and magical damage; the magical damage scales with your intelligence stat which is low atm. This particular weapon scales really well with strength so going heavy should give you a bit more damage.

I got like 20-30 talismans, I'll post them later tonight.

I'll work on the endurance, but I kept the vigor at 40 since there is a soft cap there and I needed STR 60 for the Giant Crusher

I never knew that damage gets split between cold/physical. I thought that cold was just add-on bonus damage. I'll check my Ashes later tonight and try to redo my weapon.

Thanks Derkon Derkon

Get Radagons Scar/Sore seal, that'll give you End and let you also take points out of str to also put into End. Also green turtle talisman for stamina regen and arsenal charm to equip heavier armor.

You can swap between flaming and heavy depending on bosses. You only need 30str if you 2 hand it but 60 str will give you a ton of extra fire or physical dmg.

What you want to do is look for talismans that boost lions claw dmg. Just spam lions claw and you will flatten most enemies right away. Then do a normal attack for the crit dmg when they are stunned or flattened.

And mimic lions claws should be extra icing on top. That build will butt fuck Melania.

It work, but the amount gained is so pathetic by that point you are better off just doing the Bird Farm for a half hour or farming the hill down from the Bird Camp (Blasphemous, Ruins Sword, and Heima Cannon all clear it stupidly fast and can all be nabbed somewhat early on). But to your point, I think they turned off the infinite respawn on those guys at some point, But even then it was pathetic XP gain. By the time you can beat Radahn to make it an option, you get faster XP just playing the damn game.

Yeah, I'll just grind at that first hill en route to Mohgwyn Palace with Taker's Flames.

Haven't really grinded at all in this playthrough which was one of my goals, but I need like another 50 levels before the endgame so I pretty much have to do at least some grinding.

Bayle is hard if you don't understand the fight and know how to read his AE attacks. You also want to have at least 12 (more like 16) Scadooshes in the fight. Unlike most bosses in this expansion, he is not a DPS fest and gives you major windows to recover if you get tagged. The spear you are rocking will fuck him up pretty good as will specific lightning spells and the aforementioned katana. If you use ashes of war, Poop Man, Nefirir Loux, the golem summon, or mimic all work well. And calling in the cripple will distract him periodically for you to get major openings. Only major trick to the fight is to not get caught by his grab and avoid his AE. He is one of those fights like Hora Luix or Godfrey where it seems ridiculously hard until it clicks in your head and you just start crushing him every time you fight him. The window to summon early is narrow because of how he rushes the door, but if you dodge his initial attack you usually get a pretty large window to summon a pal and then getting the geezer summoned is a piece of cake from there. And of course he bleeds, so Fingerprint plus Pig Rider spear with Blood Tax can really do a number on him.

I didn't spend much time on Bayle (or any of the tougher DLC fights) the first time around because it was NG++ and I was just testing it out more than anything else. Good to hear he isn't as brutal as it initially seemed.

Still dreading the inevitable Dark Souls 3 replay where I have to beat Midir and Gael, especially considering there probably aren't really other players to summon anymore (which is probably the only reason I barely beat Sister Friede). Don't think DS3 has any summons or equivalent like ER does.

Back to ER, I went to the Shadow Realm since I've pretty much tapped out the main overworld (outside of Mountaintops). Hoping to find some Golden Seeds there, not sure if they're main game only. Got one-shotted by that one Guts From Berserk boss in the mausoleum near the beginning, hilarious. Yeah, maybe I'll wait until after the normal game to take this on. Goddamn.

Morgott / Mountaintop of the Giants next. Not entirely sold on the Bandit Curved Swords, they seem kind of...weak? I guess I got used to Great Stars smashing things. The bleed procs do huge damage and fire frequently, it just seems like in between I'm doing almost chip damage compared to the consistent HP-gouging of the Great Stars. Well, that's the difference between Str weapons and Blood weapons.

How do you kb+mouse bros set up your buttons?

Having weapon art on ctrl is retarded. I usually swap that to F and guard counter to control, but if I am using a dual wield setup or a shield I set that up on mouse 2 and just don't use heavy/charged attacks as much.

Yeah I should probably start using other armor besides just the dress. There are some minimally-intrusive equipments like the circlet, Zamor Legwraps, those blue bracers from the Snowfield. 5 Poise is pretty awful. Not using a shield anymore either, just rolling and slashing like it's Bloodborne.

Got things set up now where I'm using the two blood curved swords for most things and can swap to the Blasphemous to unleash range fire attacks if needed. Grinding the hill with all the frogmen on it leading to Mohgwyn Palace works fine with Taker's Flame but it'd be 2 or 3 times quicker with the gold wave from the Elden Beast sword.

Not sure if I want to tackle Mountaintop/CFA, Consecrated Snowfield/Haligtree, or the DLC (meaning run around getting what I can, for the moment) so I'm just going around collecting missing talismans now.

Is it possible to get Elden Beast's remembrance weapon and use it inside of NG, or does it make you go to NG+ after the final fight? I can't remember. Would be awesome to have that gold wave attack, and as I recall the sword went off of Faith so it'd work well with this build. Much more of a Paladin-ish weapon than the Blasphemous is and probably has a better L2 (for regular enemies anyway).

Morgott is WAY more aggressive than I remember. So was Astel. So far the 3 bosses that really whooped me (even with summons) were Godskin Noble, Mohg 2.0, and Astel. I'd add Morgott to that list except his HP isn't very high and my setup rips through his health...when I have a chance to actually get an attack off, that is. Trying to take him down without summoning.

I'm the only person I know of that plays with left hand on gamepad, right hand on mouse. All the movement control of a directional joystick, all the camera precision with a mouse.

I tried using foot pedals which were kind of fun but not super useful due to the slow reaction time. They're better for predictable key presses.

Left foot pedal is primary attack with left weapon, right foot pedal is primary attack with right weapon. Hard stomp on either pedal for strong attacks. Steering wheel is for movement; trackball is for looking. Obviously, the steering wheel has buttons on it for things like drinking flasks.

I've done a playthrough with controller on my couch and TV but it just doesn't feel right when I'm sitting at my desk. I had one of those mini keyboards with a d-pad on it before maybe I should get another one.

Don't you only need half the strength requirement if you are 2 handing it?
Nah. Double bunga is the way to go. However you need a shit ton more end, you'll want Great Jar Talisman, and Radagon's Soreseal/Scarseal. You should have them or you can get them for where you're at in the game. Jar +1 or 2(?) comes later I think. You can really stack so you can double the heaviest of weapons, and maybe even wear a couple key armor pieces.

And most importantly, your flex amulet should be Claw/whatever other type of damage you will do to boss. Claw boosts your jump attack and jump attacking bunga is the easiest way to play it. Huge stagger, huge damage, pretty decent startup animation for dual wielding massive fuck you weapons. If you aren't jump attacking you can use the Charge attack amulet (forget its name) or something else

Have you done Volcano manor? There's an ash of war in there that charges you're next attack. Very useful. Or Lions Claw for bosses. Very OP ash.

Make sure you have cracked tear recipes too. There's one that boosts stagger even more can't remember where you get it.

Unga build. Stagger the world.
