Sad part is seeing a lot of people think that is a good price lolI'll get it eventually, but $50 for Oblivion in 2025 is lol
What's the word on how the scaling works?I haven't played it yet, but the leveling system is a combination of OG Oblivion and Skyrim. Your major powers level up faster and "count more" for level progress while leveling. However, you no longer need to grind skills that you don't want to grind just to keep up with your stat boosts. At least based on the screen I saw in the trailer, it looks like Oblivion's old alchemy system is preserved. I presume customized Mage Guild spells are too, but not 100% sure.

In the original vanilla game, scaling was so broken that it made leveling up counterproductive and eventually killed the fun entirely when basic bandits are sporting full Glass or Daedric. I just remember end game being health sponge ogres lining the roads and having to go out of my way to not fight non-human enemies because they all took forever to kill.
It also made exploring pointless since there wasn't any real difference between any of the dungeons other than the type of enemies you fought, with zero chance of finding any interesting loot for your level if you could hypothetically push through harder enemies.
If modding is on the table, though, then at least there is a good chance of fixing anything if the developers didn't touch the scaling.
This was literally the #1 issue I had with Oblivion. The scaling was fucking retarded. If you were 30+ you really just had to cheese the game because mobs had way too much EHP.It's still early, but I'm seeing comments that it's still kind of broken with Adept being undertuned but Expert being overtuned.
This is the most monkey take I've seen so far.I think I played Oblivion for maybe 20 minutes then noped out. Watched the reveal trailer and was shocked at how bad the character models were, like why even bother? Most everything else -looks- OK, but why not do the world a favor and outsource character design / reworks to China or Korea, get some real talent.
default was a 62,500% effort jump easy to master? lol.
Wait... do some of you think the character models in this remaster look good? Really? These are on par (at best) with stuff in a game like EQ2. The reveal trailer made it sound like they redid the meshes for all the npcs, is that wrong?
