Just finished working on this mashup. What do you guys think?

its not really a mash up. you looped the same 32 bar electronic sample over a 3 minute track worth of vocals and some melody. because the hip hop tracks have no discernable bassline, you managed to avoid having it sound like a "sneakers in a dryer" trainwreck.

as far as the quality of the mashup, the hip-hop is completely out of place and the sample is an awful and derivative happy hardcore-ish sample, i could hardly imagine 2 more disliked genres of music combined together. maybe reggaeton and country.

here's what a mashup looks like.

Anyone ever seen Big Gigantic live? How are they?

Opportunities for shows where I live are few and far between and one is coming up soon...and I kind of like their sound.

I saw them. Had no idea who they were before walking to that stage. Was pleasantly surprised although it was towards the end of the night and I was out of juice.

Here in Des Moines, Iowa, we get very few electronic artists coming to town, so whenever someone shows up I make sure to go.

Big Gigantic played at a very small bar downtown, was surprised a group as popular as they are even came to Des Moines, especially in such a small venue. It was INCREDIBLE. Absolutely recommend seeing them.

Hopefully more electronic artists show up in Des Moines. We've had Excision play in Iowa City once, saw Bassnectar and Pretty Lights when they came to Des Moines, and Terravita once when they came through. So while we hardly ever get good electronic music, seeing Bassnectar here was AWESOME. Pretty Lights, of course, is just incredible. And Terravita rules if you like Dubstep, check em out if you've never heard of em.
