I think it is a great change.

I have been playing EQ for the last year, took my Main and 4 boxes from level 72 to level 86 and from 250 AA to around 2800 AA. Also did a lot of other stuff in the game like become Master Artisan (7x300 tradeskill) and old Raids and such. But I made sure I always had fun in whichever activity I was doing, so I do not mind at all that those AA that I earned will now be granted to a Gold character (and then some). I actually only ever did the daily Franklin Teek tasks as far as XP-ing went and that was like 10 minutes a session. The moment I start to feel that I am doing anything grindy in the game, I quit with that activity. So the last 3 months I didn't even do dailies. Mind you, I used to get caught in "work" too in my MMO's but not anymore.

I think people that return to the game will love it that AA's will auto-fill up during their leveling proces. Leveling is still a lot of fun imo in EQ, and now you are not looking at that HUGE mountain of AA's anymore.

I think EQ also gets the "buy a level 85 toon"feature, and that is fine by me, but I would advice people to just level up a toon. Smell the roses! I see people in every zone, hotzones for grouping and mercs for those solo hours. Off course if you *have* to group every minute of the way then you may run into a few snags but even then, this change should bring more people to the game.

Is tfo recruiting? Not interested in high end raiding right now. But I figure I'll have about 150 xp pots when I move my characters and I'd be willing to Pl some needed class up to sod era stuff.

TFO is recruiting. Current class "wish list" is on the left sidebar of our home page -The Faceless Order Everquest Progression

We've had a few apps lately who didn't realize we *are* a raid guild. We raid Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 9pm EST. While we don't have a set attendance% requirement, we do expect that members who are online during raid time will be at the raid unless something unusual comes up (and if something does, they just need to shoot an officer a tell so we know not to expect them while we're making / balancing groups.)

SOD raids start Monday 2/10. Can't wait to raid new (to us) content!

Someone suggested this to make autofollow work better, and it really seems to have worked.

Alt-O on the char you want to follow with

Max Background FPS - All the way up
Max FPS - 30
Holy crap, thank you. Did this then ran around PoK with another char following and they never lost me. None of the normal run off in a straight line or in circles crap.

Been playing with MQ2 on kpemu. It's my first time using MQ2, and I don't want to give up /stick at this point. /follow is such dogshit, and yea, I've used that trick before. /stick is god mode. If SOE substantially improved autofollow I'd pay them a month just to experience it.

I actually think /follow works better then /stick when you adjust the fps, in my experience anyway.

The best autofollow command I ever used was a script for MQ2 my buddy made me and I guess it made the following guys follow the /loc path exactly of whoever they were following. I'm not sure if they have something like that now premade into live MQ2 compiles but it was pretty sweet.

On that note anyone have FV /testcopy kits they would be willing to let me use/use for me? I remember earlier in this thread someone said they had kits for a couple classes, I'd probally be interested in just about anything thats not a rogue/bard/shaman/monk at this point. I played on FV for awhile have a 93 monk/shaman I'm sure I have some plat there to give you a little payment with.

I always had a pet clsss for those levels but the grounds might be best or anything in HoT. The progression quests in RoF are amazing and cant be beat for exp. 99% of it is just running around invis and its MEGA EXP. Thats in shards landing or whatever its called, Guild hall portal takes ya there.

if you dont have it yet, you could do your j5 merc quest with the combo and maybe another weenie merc

It ain't sexy, but Shard's Landing is hard to beat for the 95-100 grind.

-It's convenient, being an expansion hub zone, that you can guild portal right to.
-Low difficulty zone, meaning most mobs can be snared, rooted, slowed. Making a box character invis will keep them safe, as there are no see-invis random mobs in the zone or undead. Appropriate level mercs hold up just fine against all content, including names.
-Good exp rate, with low difficulty. "Adult and child" mob types, to vary up the difficulty: Example "Elder Naeya" and "A Naeya Plainshound". Elders have normal HP and dps for the level, while the "child" Naeya's have 50%.
-Kill quests and monster hunter quests that can be repeated indefinitely, for bonus exp/AA.
-Tons and tons of named mobs with a high spawn rate. Random loot drops on all the other mobs in the zone. One grind session can/should yield 3-4 pieces of tradeable All/All 2000 hp/mana gear.

So thinking about changing up my box line up. I have a 100 rogue/bard/shaman, and i'm bringing up a paladin that's 92 atm.

Only two of those i'm certain to stick with now is the bard and the paladin, I love my rogue hell he's like the 4th rogue I have maxed out. I just think that once I start tanking with the paladin I won't be able to give the rogue the attention he requires to actually put out decent dps. The shaman 90% of the time is really just a buff bitch, granted he has saved my skin more time then I can count when cleric merc was slacking but for basic grinding I feel I could do much better.

Anyway i'm pretty torn on what to bring up to box with the paladin/bard I'm leaning towards mage or wizard, but also considering BL they may take a little too much micromanaging as well though. Anyone have any advice on what would be a decent but easy to use box with that combo ?

Also, not sure if anyone still has any but after I come up with what I will make I could really use some xp pots to testcopy over from FV my buddy that had a bunch hasn't been on since I came back. I'll be on my rogue Nulolanx for most of the night, on test.

I have a backpack full of xp pots and lots of gear on FV.

Paladin and Beastlord would have great synergy.

Boxing a Shaman only makes sense if you are using them as a healer, which rarely does anyone do. Boxing an Enchanter only makes sense if you are doing content that requires crowd control, which hardly exists.

Think of the Beastlord as the perfect mix between Shaman/Enchanter, where you get the Haste, Melee buffs (unique Triple attack buffs & attack rating buffs, in addition to normal stat buffs), AND Mana buffs in as well as the all important slow debuffs. You get the best of both worlds and don't forget you get the Beast's pet which will do 5x as much set-forget damage as a shitty Shaman/Enchanter pets.

Melody the Bard and even if you only buff bitch the Beast, and then slow/send pet on incoming mobs, you will be much farther ahead than boxing a Shaman/Enchanter. Then you can devote the other 90% of your attention to the Paladin and actually have fun playing the game.

i assume monks are also pretty good for "set-and-forget" DPS? i'm unfamiliar with the current highest end game, though.

Awesome, going to roll a beast they sound perfect. I appreciate it Fight, just holler whenever your able to get on.

Monks aren't really sit and forget anymore, all melee have disc's they need to rotate now in order to perform up to par.

What is population like on FV compared to CT, Bertoxx, Luclin, Bristlebane, etc.? Back when I played before FV was ranking maybe half what they did on the everquest.com server status deal. Now I see it ranking higher, but is that reflected by a density at the high end in-game?
