don't even have to do /scribe. Spells are just auto added to your spellbook when you level.

Should be 10 tinyurl links for all the files. You don't "install" those; you just copy paste all of the files into an EQ folder (but don't put it in your Program Files folder). Then you need the files from the server website (linked on first page). Copy those into the EQ folder and replace any duplicates.

For EQEmu, you need to create a login on the EQEmu website. Use that to login to the game.

Also, need to create a shortcut to "eqgame". Right click on the shortcut, go to properties, and add a space and "patchme" after the target file. That keeps EQ from trying to patch when you run the game.

But what copy of EQ do I need? Does it not matter? Usually you need trilogy or in this case it would be platinum or something? So don't install EQ into program files?

RoF2

The 10 zips linked on the forum are just a zipped up installed directory. Un zip them into a folder, adjust the shortcut to include patchme, finally copy the missing files and spellfile from the additional zip, and you are good to go. The eqhosts file is already modified.

No. Use the one from the server forum, or torrent an RoF2.

Stop making this harder than it is.

EQEmu Set up guide if you still can't figure it out

Thanks for the help. My confusion lies in the post that said the tinyurl links weren't an install, merely files I should copy into my existing EQ directory. So RoF2 Direct Download | Nagafens-lair-reborn is what you're talking about. Download all those, unzip them into a folder I name EQ or whatever, somewhere other than program files, and then that's the ROF2 client?

Yes. It's just someone's install they zipped up.

Put those in any folder, anywhere, called anything you want.

C:\RoF2 is fine...............so is C:\Goliaths Tips for fucking girls in the ass

Have the spell effects/sounds been fixed? Mine never worked, but wasn't sure if it was because of the server problem or something just wasn't right with my ini, spell file, something?

eqclient.ini from that RoF2 install has them turned off.

change SOUND=FALSE to SOUND=TRUE

I think you can just turn the particles/spell effects on in your options window.

Edit: Just saw the above.

Oh damn I thought they found a way to make classic zones (non revamped) work here? Shame.

fix your nek zone file. rename nektulos.eqg to nektulos.eqg.bak or some shit. proceed with epic.

Of course the first place I went was Nektulos and am now stuck in a zone loop where it keeps trying to enter Nektulos from lavastorm mountains. Even after logging out and back in. I tried your fix but no dice.

You have to close the client, log it back, and hit the return home b utton.

Ohhh at least freeport, West at least, seems to be non revamped. Was it just lavastorm and nektulos that suck? What are the classic zones here that are non revamped?

For the spell effects you need to go open the custom spell file you downloaded and delete anything over 40k.

Spells_us.txt? That only goes to 34498

Got them working... somehow. They are modern spell effects yeah? I'm happy. Sound working, spells working. Old models working, old zones "mostly working". This is fantastic. Seems the only revamped zones are nek/lava

Although I just crashed zoning into East Commons from West Commons and can't log back in now. I got a message saying the zone file 'commons' is missing from the directory that I am currently running EQ from. I checked and there are ecommons files. Is this another nektulos type problem?

Damn so many zone problems. Tried to go to Misty Thicket via Rivervale, crashed and got the same error as I did with East Commons. Tried via PoK book, got sent back to hub and told I didn't have permission. Does nobody else have any zone problems? I don't see what I missed. I even redid all the tinyurl links.

There is a another zip inside the spellfile that I had to extract separately. That fixed my Misty thicket and Toxx Forrest zones. The issue with Nek can be resolved by deleting your nektulos.eng and nektulosa.eng files. When you log in it will redownload those files from the host. Warning Nek Forrest is hella bugged and mobs with path under the zone.

My only real issue with the server at this point is the Zone Permission Errors. Highpass and Warrens are two that always get me. Need a GM to do magic on their end for those.

You just need to replace your zone files yourself. I used the same RoF2 client download as everyone else, and I zoned into Highpass, Warrens, and Stonebrunt without issue.
