Yeah I have bad luck also.

Also I guess the reason for horrid grind on things like Saphires/Rubies is because atm we are locked to tier 3 islands. Sapphire being T4 is uncommon on a t3 map and worse with rubies being Tier 5 on tier 3. If we had Tier 4 or 5 islands, it would supposedly be easier.

They are like one guy I saw earlier - in a giant wood box of some sort just afk swinging at a re-spawning tree (inside said box) on his claim. That's how you do it if you don't have a second monitor to watch Netflix, or are playing on a laptop. I asked him how his botting was going as he didn't reply

Oh, also, whatever reservations I had early on about the character art are totally gone.

Really have to give kudos to the art team. I think they have struck an excellent balance of spectacular vistas, detailed looking gear, expressive and unique characters, and interesting architectural style.

I'm very much enjoying running around and taking in the "New Norrath" vibe.

I like the art as well, and the animations are fantastic. I do think the scale is a touch too big though, and that they could get away with making the toons 1/8 smaller to make the world feel larger.

I don't blame the guy. I'd find a big tree and just sit afk over night with it going on that one tree. It's funny that he hid himself in a box :p

But a grind is great mechanic for a cash shop, I can easily see it being lessened by $.

With some of the trees instant respawn, I am sure people could write a simple code. I am dumb so I use a method to hold down button.

Just started watching the tutorial videos, and they are pretty informative. Noticed a water/liquid/element tab on the add materials menu for dev build. They also showed off mailboxes which don't work yet, but will be awesome eventually.

Content filter and tags for claims, also awesome.

I'm 50/50 on the models right now. The animations need work. The running/parkour is not quite in sync. Some animations are great, such as jumping and grappling, but others are somewhat lacking. I feel the mining animation should be more characterized. Right now it looks like my avatar is barely tapping. He should be swinging with velocity.

I do like the detail in the faces and posture and look of the characters in general but there is some work to do. Since this is Alpha, there are no worries. The game is addictive, even in this near naked form.

Well, the reason why the toons are the size they are was just made clear to me by D.G's twitter. 6 inches is the limits of the voxel engine tech which is proportionate to the size of the toons at 6 feet.
