Topic change but SOE related... did anyone figure out what MMO Smed was talking about when he said "SWG people will be happy in the future ?"

I was thinking, shit they can't be buying "the repopulation" could they ?

Does discovery help with burled wood and elemental stuff? What does +harvest do? Just give more pieces of common drops per "whack"?

The way my testing has seen so far, it works like this:

a +10 harvesting (bounty) ring gives 11 Burled instead of 10 (10% increase), it'll increase common rates by 10% as well. Discovery increases the chance per swing that rares drop, like Burled and Elementals. I've found that it's only worth using +disco gear, as Elementals and Burled are the biggest road-blocks now that Sapphire and Ruby are more common. I did run +disco and switch to +harvest ONLY when I got to the gem section of the node. Now, I just run +disco, and occasionally, I'll switch out a disco ring for a lightstone so I can see (fuck these things drive me mad, move the origin point to head height you fucks!) during the night time.

I've seen people posting % chance of getting legendary picks/axes etc... has anyone here done any testing?

Reason i'm asking is because i do not have the materials to do the testing, but i was curious if the item you used to make the next item has any effect on the outcome...
Meaning, if i put in a green cobalt pick for my indigo, chance is less for legendary, Blue cobalt pick then % chance is higher for indigo blue+, and if i use legendary cobalt, then chances are even higher for legendary indigo.

So here is my third build, and I would love some feedback. I originally wanted a giant sphere, but it is hard to make one really large within the confines of the claim size we are currently allowed. Still have to furnish the 3 inside rooms.

Discovery gives you more of the rare stuff and the harvest is more bulk stuff per wack which is really nice for collecting bulk of things like stone and dirt when building pyramids haha.

Really, really nice Anomander. How long did it take?

Looks awesome, Anomander. They really need to fix the camera clipping through walls when you're in a tight spot and make the first-person camera about 20 times more responsive/fast.

This is something I've been wanting too. It can be rather hard building stuff in close quarters when your camera keep clipping through the wall you're facing. I think the problem is going to get more pronounced with the introduction of caves as well, assuming caves are rather claustrophobic and not massive subway tunnels just to make room for the camera.

Is the clipping issue in Planetside as well? I wonder if it's an engine problem.

It took a couple of days, maybe 12 hours total? Much of that time was spent tweaking things as I didn't have a plan before the build, except for wanting a giant sphere (which didn't work out). Some time wasted on forgetting to use the select tool oneverything- all the floors were "painted" using the select tool and copy / pasted. Most of the time was spent on finessing details. When the game goes into CB I will have a plan before I build, possibly even drawing shit up irl. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah that is definitely frustrating - (ruins the point of having narrow spaces to an extent). Sorry for the jerky camera going up the stairs, was hard holding down the right mouse button and making those turns as smooth as possible. I really love being able to use the landscape as the material to paint with.
