I'm fairly certain they will end up adding some type of mechanical shit in landmark. We may not see it right away, but if they truly are giving us every tool they plan on using for EQN then I can see getting gates and doors.

This is just speculation; but as far as flying goes I would imagine you're only allowed to fly on your own plot of land and nowhere else, considering they want the world to be explored.

There is nothing wrong with wanting a game where the gameplay is not catered towards tweens, if you enjoy it, then you'll have a blast in the EQN, personally i like my games to not be rated E for everyone... have fun building snowmen and candy cane houses.

Would you say reality is for adults? I mean, there are snowmen in real life. Do you avoid even looking at them? While I can understand not wanting a game aimed at kids, you're extrapolating quite a bit of information from a picture of a snowman.

Candy Cane house is going to fresh though.

Fortunately Rerolled is a diverse forum with many threads covering many games.This upcoming MMOmay be a bit more your speed then. It seems aimed squarely at adults and I seriously doubt there'll be any snowmen, candy canes or holiday cheer present in the game to ruin your fun.

while i do appreciate your attempt to troll me it's of no use.
My initial anticipation for this game was very high, as well as most of the people here. Sure i can just settle and be content with the garbage i think they are creating (like you seem to be) or i can voice my opinion (which also makes no change to the game anyway). Nothing wrong with wishing SOE created what we were all wishing they created and not the jolly lolly land of christmas heaven.
There is nothing wrong with holiday themes in games but this is EQ, not wow. When i played wow i excpeted it and enjoyed it. When i play EQ i do not expect it so seeing it makes me sad with what they are doing.. but alas they are doing it.
It's like if there was Dark Souls 5 and in the videos for it, you see santa and his elves handing out presents and money to players. It just does not fit with Dark Souls. As this to me does not fit to EQ.

Fortunately there's yet another thread that may answer your prayers.I hear this MMOwill answer all that is wrong with the current crop of MMOs. It seems to be entirely populated with people who share much in common with you. The thread comes complete with pages of pining for yesteryear and hoping that this game is finallythe one MMOto end all MMOs.

I wouldn't speak for everyone in that thread. I started it, I'm pissing myself in anticipation for the Kickstarter to launch and I damn sure want it to be completely old school, but that doesn't prevent me from getting excited for other games. I'd agree with Terial to some extent if this was EQN and not EQNL. As it stands, that area is strictly Everfrost in theme, meaning there will be a bunch of snow and shit. EQNL is the same game where you can build mechs and all sorts of stupid shit so a couple of snowmen aren't going to crash the party. Besides, it was a holiday nod.

I'll be on the suckers (alpha) list in this thread soon enough.

I'm not happy about seeing that snow man either. Being the first to put a good, classic snow man into the player store at under a buck would've been like printing money. On that note, are there measures taken to prevent the next guy from just looking at what I build to sell and copying it then selling it cheaper? I hope my intellectual property and hard work are protected inside the game!

I don't think they have even divulged(or probably even know yet) the details on things like that.

Who wants to live in a world where there is snow, yet no snowmen? I'm sure they have been made for many many years. I don't see how they make anything childish, and I'm happy the option is there. Maybe you could give your snowman an emo outfit, or possibly give it huge teeth and put a severed head in its mouth? I mean, snowmen can be completely evil and grimdark. Haven't you ever seen Jack Frost?

maybe his version of adult gameplay was snakes, orcs, trolls, fairies, dragons, dark elves etc in everquest. Maybe his adult life is fantasy based and thus his rage over snowmen4
