From what I've read, all the scenes that were cut were basically gore porn. Encroaching on NC17 rating. Such as what what's his face sees when he gets sucked into the portal. And more scenes with the dead wife, etc etc.

I remember reading an interview with the director saying that multiple test audiences couldn't finish watching the original cut of the film it was so gory/horrifying. I could be mistaken it's been quite a few years since reading that.
Same people, slightly less soy in their veins.probably 90s version of whatever the fuck this is
pretty sure they say that about every horror movie to try and hype them upI remember reading an interview with the director saying that multiple test audiences couldn't finish watching the original cut of the film it was so gory/horrifying. I am fascinated by the mythos of the Devil and demons/hell in general. So any movie that has the devil in it or demons from hell is always interesting for me. In this context, the black hole/otherwordly dimension produces the evil entity that wreaks havoc.
This movie captured the dread of the torment that befell the crew, with each individual haunted by their own version of "hell" which is very interesting. There are other movies that attempt to portray the Devil and demons etc in different ways, such as Constantine (Vormeer was incredible as the Devil), Al Pacino's version in the Devils Advocate and The Witch, that showed a more nebulous version. I wish someone would make a solid devil movie that touched on more biblical mythos shit and had some epic fights between angels and hellspawn etc.
I would so get behind a movie in this branch of horror/science fiction. I feel like every time I watch a movie that tries to pull from these elements, the directors or "someone" has toned it down a bunch in order to not piss of the WASP community or something similar.I am fascinated by the mythos of the Devil and demons/hell in general. It is suppose to be a comedy?Ive seen Dogma. Its a good flick but its a little too "goofy" for me. It is incredibly intense sometimes and takes itself serious most of the time, but the comedy spirit kind of turns me off.
Yeah don't know what you would expect with that cast and being part of the Clerksverse. It is suppose to be a comedy?
