We will get you a new one...a better one!
From a meta perspective, having a Bulette outside of the temple would have been...rough. Wouldn't have been able to take him into to towns without either intimidating the guards at the entrance (and likely being forced into killing them), or leaving him outside and losing him that way. Regardless, you can bet that I'm going to be trying to get a new one. Maybe we'll happen upon a tainted forest and I'll be able to cleanse it using my new found druid powers and find a pet that way. It's gotta be something big though!

Will our campaign have any sort of downtime activity? Like, will Reggie be able to research spells, create magical items, etc?

Flesh out your characters. You just saved a community as a group of rag tag individuals. Discuss how you wish to cope with such glory and what insight you've gained in the process. Figure out your reasoning for sticking together as a group of weirdos with blood/wonderlust. Consider where the nearest easy barmaids are at with a library/Arcanum nearby.

Some of your PC's may have a backstory, but for the most part you're all living in a vacuum. Fill it while you have some time not spent clinging to Hatorade's story/direction..

Hi guys

I've been wanting to learn and play D&D for the longest time and now that I think I'm more settled I'd like to explore this possibility. Any recommendations for somebody who doesn't know anything nor knows anybody who play? If it helps I'm in Seattle.

Talk with Hatorade, not sure we have room in either of our groups, but you'd probably be more than welcome to come watch. If a spot did open up, if you're willing to commit to it, we could maybe squeeze you in.

I had never played before 2 months ago, and quite frankly, I fucking love it.

If you just want to learn what's going on check out d20srd.com. If you want to see it in action watch Critical Role on YouTube.

If you want to feel the addiction of making characters, Google DnD next character generator (or 5e or 3.5 or pathfinder).

If you want to really learn you can't beat playing (check out roll20's virtual tabletop or your local game shop) or snagging the core books (PHB/MM/DMG) and reading them. All the books for every edition have been scanned and are online in one person or another's google/docshare.

Being in Seattle, you're pretty well situated to play for real if you're not socially inverted. Find an Adventure League (Official WotC DMs running Official games) group and experience the real deal a lot of people can't except for at comic cons.

Don't we have a spot due to the departure of the Warlock?

This! Don't play with scrub DMs like myself if you can play with the pros I suggest you do so.

If you are still scrub dm, I can't wait to play with a pro dm.

My strongest ability is coming up with stuff on the fly, something fantasy ground limits greatly.

That has always been my weakness, coming up with stuff on the fly. Which is why I try to flesh out a vast area surrounding the starting spot with as much world building before I start a game. Makes random encounters so much easier, for the inevitable "let's go away from what the DM has planned," times lol.
