To answer my own question from earlier now that I've picked up my copy... that's a hard no on fully customizable controls unfortunately. Preset B is as good as we're going to get for now, hopefully it's addressed in the next patch that should allow for toning down/getting rid of the motion blur too.

Retarded, pretty sure that fight shows every button being hit. You can also boil elden ring down to “hit a few buttons x30” exactly the same as this video.

Level 7 battles are plain! I can't believe it! By level 20 there are some bosses that require more defense/evasion and if you are bad it will make you regret the limit on potion amounts.
Once you get more abilities and start learning stagger, topple, and even some deflect options i think the issue will be learning what every ability does and then not knowing future boss mechanics. Luckily, you can unspend points and respec at will.

enjoying the game a lot so far but not very far in.
the prologue in the game is the exact same as the demo so if you are short on time can just import the save and not a miss a thing. I replayed the prologue and understood a bit more of the start. I'm pretty retarded, I honestly thought the dog turned into the giant horned Primal or whatever when I first played the demo (yeah I know that makes no sense but someone says Torgol right before it appears).
VA is a little odd, its hard getting used to the old english idioms but I guess its a bit immersive since everyone talks like it.
the platinum trophy does require you to replay the game in NG+ (you unlock Final Fantasy difficulty mode only in NG+) so just something to keep in mind if you wanna 100% the game. I'm chilling my first run and taking it easy, have the ezmode trinkets equipped for now. It does become a bit difficult to know when to evade since your screen gets filled up with so many light explosions in some fights.

Anytime someone admits they skip through cutscenes CAUSE I GOTTA GET BACK TO THE ACTION WOOO...it's a simple don't trust their opinion on story in the slightest. The fact they compare it to XIV as well (which I guarantee they also skipped story in by the sounds of it), while making the "only white Europeans commenting on slavery" argument is all I need to know to assume they don't have a clue.
