I had 28 tickets. I got Pirate Jake around ticket 15. I finally got Nichol on ticket #28. I hated using them all before the rate increase (even if it’s not expected until Februaryish) but Nichol has a very unique ability and is limited. I can see him being another Ling where we had 6 months of bitching from people who didn’t pull her.

pirate jake on 4* ticket #2.

including all the ex & normal tickets I had saved, and the free 10+1, I had summoned 53 units... Got Knight delita from the free 10+1 ticket, illusionist Nichol on banner, pirate Jake, and a shitload of blackcat lid's. Got my 3rd Chiz, and nothing else really of note.

I really really wanted 2 Pirate Jakes and 1 Illusionist Nichol so I was prepared to burn quite a bit to get them. Used up 2 10+1 tickets, 30 rare tickets, 1 4* ticket, and 10k lapis. I ended up with 4 Illusionist Nichols and GL Sakura plus a few 4* that I did not have like Victoria and Glauca. I will still do dailies hoping for a Pirate Jake or two. I will probably burn a few more tickets at the end if I don't get him.

Got 2 Sakura in 60K Lapis or so no other rainbows. Was quite pleased I won the coin-flip twice. She will be a fun unit to mess around with.

Not Enhanced Trashy Terra level but close.

Did my pulls.... mixed feelings though.
1x 4* ex ticket, 1x 4* ticket, 33 regular tickets gave me 2 rainbow, 10 gold, 23 blue.

Both rainbows were off-banner Fryevia (my 2nd and 3rd), and to be honest I think she's a better pull than Grim Lord.
9 off-banner golds in a row, and finally #10 was Illusionist Nichol.

I wanted a few of Jake's TM, but fuck it, I'm not going through another 10 off-banner golds. I have 2x Soluna band's already for my tanks, that's good enough, I'm done with this banner.

The best gear I could put on GL Sakura got her up to 1052 MAG (full MAG pots & Tetra Sylphid) with her TM spear. She's pretty tanky too with almost 6k HP (half potted), 246 DEF (full pot), and 655 SPR (25/30 pot). Should be fun :)
Sinzar Sinzar Grats on more Fryevias. Now you can have a BiS one and another to chain with. I'm hoping that GL Sakura turns out to be a beast. She may turn out to be a niche character because of her dual elemental-ness. She also have innate -50% dark which makes her unsuitable for most recent trials.

I popped the free 10+1, did another 10+1 and the couple freebie tickets from clearing the event dungeon. Two Pirate Jakes and nothing else really of note. Nothing else on banner (other than Black Cat Lid), no rainbows, but I did snag another Ingus so, yay I guess?

I hate when I'm in the middle of working on TM's for someone then I come across something else I want to work on more. Been trying to shape up the Flame Veritas for a week or so now, and now T. Terra has popped up and I really want to work the few things I need for her. Can't squeeze everything into one TM farm group :(

Mine is just north of 1200 w/ Emp TMR as weapon. She takes a huge hit to HP.

She is a super good Mage for new whales to the game as without any 5* TMR other than her own she can break 1000 MAG. (NOTE Siren's robe is from an earlier event that they may not have)

I need an event that gives out magic pots... Arena hasn’t been generous with them and half of my 5 star bases are mages.

I see a lot of you guys using Magistral Crests, are they better for magic units than Ashe's Ring? The crest offers 30% spirit rather than the 30% mana/50% light resist on Ashe's ring. I had a glut of Ashe's so I farmed up a pair of rings pretty quick, should I work on Crests at some point too?

Light damage is rarely used by enemies, and mana pool usually doesn't matter too much on dps units. Incoming AoE magic damage is usually the most dangerous kind, so more spirit is good, making magistral overall more useful. Ashe's ring is nice against those few bosses who do use light damage though.

Used a 4* ticket and like 5 regular tickets and got a Nichol but nothing else on banner. Gonna wait till the last day to decide if Ima pull anymore

Dang, Ive pulled 6 Raslers. Game def has code to increase probability to pull dupes IMO

Has anyone done any maths to figure out if this event is worth farming for the crysts? Looks like it takes about 50 NRG to get enough keys to farm the ELT castle and it seems to drop a lot of T1, T2, and T3 crysts, but the colors are all of over the place... so maybe not.

I've been just using energy today to stockpile keys for now (after clearing the locked dungeons once each for the missions). Tomorrow when the special bosses unlock I'm going to see if and how many keys they need, and then I'll decide what to do with them.

So I leveled up Illusionist Nichol and tried out his aoe cover thing. It seems stupidly broken (in a good way). I put 100% evasion gear on Ling (easy to do with her innate dodge) and then just defended with repeat for like 20 turns in a battle to see if there was any kind of diminishing returns or whatever..... nope, Ling aoe evade tanked every bit of damage forever. Were physical tanks just completely obsoleted by Nichol?

I went ahead and maxed out Nichol's limit break too (do it starting at his 4* form if you plan to max it) and Nichol can also function as team mana battery. With his maxed LB and some spirit gear, his LB regenerates about 55 mana per turn for the team, and it's easy to keep up at all times if you give him some +LB fill equipment.

I think he really is the next Ling, so I'd suggest anyone who can spare the resources try to grab one before the limited banner closes. Now I want to keep going on this banner to get a Jake since his TM would be great on Nichol...

Yeah everyone is saying how Jake’s TMR is the bees knees. I pulled one and think I’m just going to be content with that. But some people are saying that 3 to 4 is “optimal” for a tank and support.

I’m considering moogleing my one and tossing it on Rikku.

I was planning to level Nichol's LB until I pulled Grim Sakura. Her maxed 270% MAG boost LB is incredible and fills really fast. I had enough LB pots to get her LB to 20 before I awoke her to 6* and then I ran out at level 21. Still happy with her 250% MAG boost. Looking forward to the next raid event so I can max out her LB and level up Victoria and Illusionist Nichol. I may build up a few skeleton keys in between running cactuar dunes this weekend. I doubt each inner chamber will require more than 5 keys. 50 NRG per boss seems like a lot; maybe for the final one, but not the first 2.

Nichol is really neat, go for it! Here's me knocking out the Return of the Erinyes trial with all missions (never went back and did the return version for the 100 lapis):

4 man team, summon an esper, beat in 10 turns or less


Nichol made Rikku tank for the team using her 100% evasion, which worked well! I like his toolkit a lot :)

He's definitely a game changing unit IMO. Thanks for showing off how cool and flexible he is. I wonder if Gumi realized this when they designed him. People are going to be doing some crazy things with him.
