Very simple actually. The actual gameplay once you're in the game could have been ass. But really, the issues surround actually logging in, and Duty Finder. Other than that, I'm pretty sure I'm accurate when I say the actual gameplay has been almost completely smooth as silk.Just for boredom's sake: How could this launch have gone any worse? Only thing I can think of is having to reinstall after every server error code. As it is, the setup is pretty laughable:
1) No queue system! (hey, you guys hate waiting in a queue, THEY FIXED IT for ya lol)
2) Random disconnects while zoning
3) No grace period to immediately log back in
And what makes it exponentially worse:
4) No AFK timer to boot people. Noone is logging out on purpose now, for fear of not getting back on.
Well the problem will eventually fix itself as less and less folks log in. I guarantee they won't have this problem 1 day after the sub gets billed
There's a lot of shit that could have gone wrong. The fact is, 98% of the launch issues surround just logging on consistently. Also if you played FFXI, the no log out thing is a staple of FF games. I doubt they will do that.
There's zero , zero way to excuse their not having a functional queue. The bullshit all launches have issues , we dont need too many servers , give them time , blah blah blah can't cover up the 100% pure fucking idiocy of SE not having a normal login queue. I've yet to see a white knight explain that one.

As was stated earlier in this thread, its not all or nothing. Just because you're not going ape shit and blowing up about how this launch has been doesn't mean your sucking SE cock defending them.

Yeah, all of this bullshit is full retard mode...and not having a working queue is a level beyond that. Of course, I still want to play the game, so there's that.

I'm mostly referring to people sucking SE's cock; like Reddit for example. I love the game, the combat felt smooth, early dungeons were alright (for the 30 seconds I was able to get into one), but they could have just done something so simple like add a Queue or a server that was made sometime in the last 5 years. But I think mostly my issue is it's obvious they don't know what the fucks going on. I wish they would just say they don't know what the fuck is going on.

I'm just hoping all this shit will clear up by the time i get back from PAX Prime lol, played for a few hours with the GF today on the JP servers, they're surprisingly not really laggy at all, and a lot of NA people are on it. But i'm sure we'll end up switching over eventually once its all "not-a-pile-of-shit-cluster-fucks"
so far only complaints are the servers not being able to handle the insane population. dont think they expected so many neck beards. its a good and bad thing but id rather have a shitty launch than a shitty game.

I'm on a much less populous server than you guys are, max queue I saw while logging in was around 140 - it probably took me 20 minutes to get in casually reentering while reading web pages. I got one boot yesterday, but all told I want to keep logging in even though they won't let me. I think the whole queue monster is a bit worse on gilg. The instance bug blocking me from completing my initial job quest at 10 was a beast yesterday. I don't think its so much defending SE, these problems are not excusable. However I want to play the game badly and when it has worked I"m having a good time. The first year of Wow - was incessant lag on my server. The ultra healthy vanilla raid scene was decimated by transfers off because you couldn't raid. Its all about perspective. If these queue issues have already driven you away from playing the game you didn't want to play it all that badly to begin with.
I just can't get all raged out over mmo server launch stability or general issues. This always happens to some degree in some form in every game.

Game is fun for what it is, but like Ut mentioned, there is nothing new here, just another WoW era rehash. But there is something to it because I want to play, so they did something right. I got my gladiator to 15 and now want to level the Marauder to 30 if I can figure out how to get to the other starting city. I guess your main quest takes you there?
Also kinda bummed the servers are going down, because Ihave a few more hours to play today. Oh well, I guess its time to see the newest Breaking Bad I taped.

Yeah you gotta complete your main chain and around 15/16/17 I ended up being sent to all the other cities via airship.
