One thing I would suggest people do as soon as possible is get a Token put on there account.

Its a very easy to use app of the ipad/iphone or android.

Gold sellers are brute forcing into peoples accounts because there is no lockout on the launcher currently.

The FF14 Launcher is bugged, and will allow an unlimited amount of attempts on a users account without locking it out.

Someone doingrealbrute forcing of passwords is rare and would take forever and is highly improbable. What you mean is that they arephishingpasswords from email accounts obtained from people not protecting themselves properly.

That's also not a "bug" on the launcher, just Bad Design.

Me and my wife play sitting next to eachother.. there is a good 1.5 second delay from what I do on my PC to what she sees on her screen. If I'm running in front of her on mine I'm running behind her on hers. Fucking shitty server placement.

I doubt they are brute forcing accounts.. unless there is a way to see someones account name in-game or something.

did the same. there was maybe 0.# sec worth of delay between tell. not noticeable i think.

Synch, is definitely a huge issue on the Titan fight, and I really have no tips to give people on that.

I've completed it over 20 times now as a white mage, and every time something strange happens that I can't explain.
Its really a fight you have to go into zombie mode on, and adjust for things that are due to the game world not synching up with what you see on your screen.

Speaking of the Titan fight, the last half which people call the hard section, can pretty much be 5 manned.

Done it about 5 times when things have gone really wrong.

Also the heart is bugged for melee, they have to be in the right spot to hit it.
The whole fight can be 5manned, just need enough DPS for the heart and the requirement is really not that high but the fight overall isn't super hard, it's just fairly long and the damage is very high so mistakes tend to result in deaths, and deaths tend to result in longer fight with more occasions to make more mistakes. Once the heart is down you could literally kill it with 2healers and a tank I think, however I'm not entirely sure as it seems the longer the fight goes, the more stomps he does during tumult(or maybe it's just a set increase over time that caps at a point). Like when we had a bunch of DPS dead and it was only 2healers 1tank and 1 dragoon, some of the last tumults were fucking brutal and I'd have time to cast 3 aoe heals during the duration before the wraths popped. I guess the other issue if you do that is you might run out of mana, depends, need to be more efficient.

Was playing on my laptop next to my Girlfriend(ps3) who was tanking Brayflox 2 days ago. Realized I could see his breath attack a good half-second before she could (she got hit by the first 3 in a row). Starting calling out 'move' each time it appeared. We won the fight, afterward she cried because "I yelled at her for being bad". I had to do a shit-ton of cuddling and reassuring that it wasn't the case and that she was doing great as a tank in her first mmo.

I have a job where 2 people are trained to work cooperatively together to do a job, even if only one person actually has "the controls"... (Imagine playing starcraft 2-player on 1 PC, it's like that) So calling out actions seems natural to me... didn't realize it could bother someone until she starting sobbing after the boss died. I know that it was much less effective doing it over vent back in WoW, thanks to another half second of delay in lag, but sometimes it did help jar some people into reacting when they heard their name... Sometimes there just is a lot of other shit happening on screen in a game, and they get tunnel vision...

Actually this is wrong, I think after 5 attempts you get locked out for 15-30 minutes. My password is actually pretty difficult to type, and mornings suck for me trying to type it correctly and I've been locked out for that long on a few occasions. Though I do have the token as well.

Edit: just curious, did you guys use a LB to kill heart, my raid group just got to him this week and have had very few attempts, but it seems that we needed to use it because either there was 1 dps dead or rocked during the fight. Unfortunately tonight would've been our normal raid night, bleh. Or is it best to save it for something else? Guessing experience would probably give us a lot more dps, but curious on when to use LB.

I tested it on my launcher, and you can do it as many times as you want. Granted this was before mondays reset.

I am using the launcher that came with the phase 4 beta.

On the website tho it will lock you.

I got locked out I think during early access after a few failed attempts, maybe they got rid of it since.

Pretty simple if you think about it. If you're going to wipe because the heart doesn't die in time, then you use the LB. If your dps can kill it, then there's no reason to waste a LB2 when you could save it for a LB3 at the end.

Alright was just curious if there was a mechanic like ifrit where you needed the aoe LB to down the totems. But if it's nothing game breaking, probably best just to use it until you don't need it just to get the experience on the later half.

We just take 1 tank 2 healers, the rest dps. You wont need an LB at that point, and you can acutelly lose a healer in the last phase with no problems at all.

Like we were commenting earlier, the whole fight can probly be 5 manned. Its just allot easier to burn through that heart phase, and then it really doesnt matter much.

One tip I can make from the healing side of that last phase of that fight, is it is very important to always have your tank topped off. Cant get Lazy with that.

I dunno about 5 man. Those tumults start adding up later, the most i've seen is 6 in a video, so not sure it they keep increasing even more if the fight keeps going. But 5 people(3 dps, 1 tank 1 healer or 1 tank, 2 healer 2 dps) would have one hell of time if they kept increasing, even 6 though is rough.

I know for a fact the last section can be 5 manned cause Ive done it more then once.

Our first Linkshell kill on titan was 5 manned in the last phase

Just takes good communication. Both a scholar, and Whm can heal through it with a bard in the group.

We had 2 Bards in the fight, but lost one.

Ive never seen more then 6. So I cant verify if they ever go past that.

I'll explain all our fights that we were low on people.

First Titan Kill, at about roughly 35% maybe 40% we lost 3. Down to our Tank, White mage, 3 dps ( one was a bard)
We thought we were done at that point, but our Tank kept screaming at us this is pussy shit, don't you fucking give up on this.

And we did it, just had to top off the tank always, and prepare for the stomps.

2nd kill we were low on people. Instead of me being alive, our scholor was alive. He had a much easier time with mana regen, but a worse time on the stomps. That one was very close.
3rd kill we were down to 5, and got off a lucky LB3 rez at about 10-15% percent ,and burned him down.

BTW that fight looks way more vicious on video then it is in the game. I know the damage seems serious, but it really comes down to everyone running the bombs properly, and avoiding plumes. With the other thing being having the Tank always topped off after the heart phase.
