There is supposed to be at least voice overs for the main quests and I believe the Class quests as well but they won't be in till the final phase. Though I don't know if that also includes your character.

By the way guys, don't forget that at a certain point (when you finish your level 10 class quest I think) you can level other classes, granting you abilities that will likely help with some of the harder fights.

Sadly if you're a marauder, you're stuck until 16ish when you can travel to other cities, because the ferry is buggy as fuck or is asking for way too much money. Most likely just buggy though, maybe it's asking for preconversion price which would be 50k I believe. For the other classes, you can travel between Uldah and Grindannia fairly easily, grab a chocobo and just follow the road, takes about 10mins. It is very useful to get conjurer to lvl 2 for the self heal at least, it won't heal much but it's still helpful and if you're not a THM, you have no use for your mp anyway.

so how do I pick a second class? Playing a conj currently and its dps is kinda shit, is it possible to spec into another class for some dps while still leveling my conj?

You're stuck with Conj until you complete the level ten class quest. I'm not playing it this beta phase, but I remember Conj being pretty okay DPS for a healer class, particularly once you get Cleric Stance.
