Hit 75 last night. I don't really like the second dungeon you unlock. The one in the woods that ends with the dancer/bard boss that's all green. Just something about it.

Similar situation. 1 button 1 craft made by Kuma. These ones are more craft heavy instead of control so consider both if your meld planning around these rotations. A lot less CP used so plenty of room to adjust if you want or to make it a 2 macro button and add in reuse.


Lv71: 1530, 1300, 390

For crafting things a lvl higher than you adding a Careful Synthesis II at the end does the trick.

List of leves




Quick note for newer players - some leves allow you to turn things in multiple times. The NPC will ask you if you want to repeat the turn in - you will get the full XP and item rewards each additional turn in. For these leves you can do the turn in three times and get 3 times full XP and still only use one leve from your allowance. The list above is all the optimal leves from the list of choices the NPC will present you with.

Haven't done any crafting past getting fishing to 15 lol. I was thinking about it but then I apparently to level another dps class for the fourth role quest line.

I really dig the role quests but that's prolly colored by how ridiculous the healer questline was. Tank one wasn't as good.

With enough rested exp, the preferred bonus, food and the preorder earring you prolly don't need anything besides the MSQ to level to max. Even without those I remember only a couple times when the MSQ quest was red because I was underlevelled and even then a daily roulette run would catch me up quick.

I am zooming ahead without the pre order ring. 15 levels ahead of MSQ at this point.

I could be wrong but I don't think the preorder earring affects quested exp actually. I know it affected gathering/crafting exp which was why I was thinking about starting that.

Well that's that then. I was kinda thinking I'd get MCH to 80 for the role quest but I'm not stepping into potd ever again. Does it even work in potd? Wasn't there some armory exp bonus thing that narrowed what exp buffs applied to potd?

Armory works on everything. Earrings only work on kill xp, which you get none of in potd/hoh. It's only really good in dungeons, anywhere else you get your xp from sources that aren't affected(FATEs is 99% from the FATE completion, quests 99% from the quest turn in,, HoH/potd 100% from the end value, leves 99% from the leve turn in etc).

Also the earring only work up to 70 so they don't help much for lvling to 80 anyway, it was more for catching up(especially since you could get them back in march). Also the Stormblood earrings are "better" since they work on gathering/crafting also(not leves/collectables though, just pure crafting/gathering but still), but they cap at 50. Anyway it's not a big deal, not having the earrings. 30% isn't that huge of an amount since it's additive with the 100% armoury and 50%rested(if you have some), as well as 15% FC buff and 3% food. It's still a good amount and is helpful but not gamebreaking if you didn't get them.

Small clarification: Earring still works at 70, once you hit 71 it turns off. Also if you're leveling 50-60 then a large chunk of your exp for a Praetorium MSQ roulette run comes from the boss kills at the end and you want bonuses on that.

Also I'm 75 and haven't even seen an earring drop from a quest. Probably missing them in normal quests or something

I am at level 20 and only doing MSQ's without any other bonuses aside from rested XP. I seem to have overleveled the MSQ's. Just wrapped up the 3 dungeons and those spiked me from 17-20 in about an hour.

Quick question on MSQ completion for vanilla - do I have to do a raid to see the end of the story? And if so, is it hard to populate raids in vanilla right now?

Also need to keep your job quests up to date since some skills are gated behind the quests. So while you can outlevel the MSQ with little harm, you might be missing some skills if you level too far ahead of your job quests.

They stopped gating skills behind the role quests in ShB but that was a particular caveat for me during the ARR content.
