Reading coddling of the American mind. Pretty good but the author just tried to say Trump was sympathetic with the neo Nazis in charlotte because he said "very fine people on both sides" (the book cites WaPo of all sources).... Trumps next sentence was literally condemning neo Nazis and the authors don't mention it.

It's like the author is trying to self fulfill his untruth on dichotomy by trying to grasp for straws for something to nail the "extreme right" for... I totally understand his untruth on dichotomous thinking but it makes me wonder - if one side takes a dichotomous approach to an extreme, does that not force the other side into their own out group? Can't that push the other side to coalesce in order to survive?

Otherwise it's a great book so far. Do you have any other recommended reading along the lines of this topic?

Also I've seen you mention that culture is downstream of institutions, laws downstream of culture and how many Marxist revolutions start this way - Do you have any reading on that? I'd like to research that more.
