From what I remember reading last year, Netflix raised the price of their standard streaming package, then stated they were going to implement a plan supported by ads at half the price. It seems that is live for the US now and wouldn't be surprised if you have the same option in Australia within the next 6 months. Kinda like how they rolled out the crack down on password sharing, starting in some markets then rolling it out world wide.
